Carrie picks up the ring and takes a deep breath. There's no sound, and she wonders for a moment how he got the rest of the world to stop for this. Slowly, she turns to look at Bobby.
There are tears now...so many, but she's smiling. She's happy and it's wrapped around everything she feels right then. Walking over to him, she looks up. "I want this," she says, referring to so much more than the ring. "I love you." She places her hand on his side, resting it there.

"The ring?" Duh. Bobby does his best not to smack himself. "Okay. So that means you like it?"
Duh again. He takes the ring from the box and takes her left hand, sliding it slowly onto her ring finger. "I love you, too. I can change my Facebook status now, right?"

Carrie doesn't manage to hold back the laugh, and that's okay. Bobby makes her laugh, and it's only one of a million things she loves about him. It makes now more real.
She looks down at the ring and nods. "It's perfect, and yes. Change your status." Her arms move up and she twines her fingers behind his neck. "After I get done telling you yes. A lot." Carrie's smile must be nearly blinding by now. "It could take a while."

Bobby laughs right along with her. This moment is exactly why he knew he could ask. Because most people think of this as the most serious, important moment of their lives, and Bobby would rather make a joke. So the fact that Carrie is okay with that, and likes it, well. Means a lot to him.
"Take your time. We live together now, so I don't have a curfew." He smiles and leans in to kiss her gently. "You know it's an engagement ring, right?"
Hah. Yeah, probably. Okay, definitely. But now she has her very own kiddie card deck to do it with. You know she's going to practice on you first, right?
