Went to a drum recital of west african drumming this evening, and it has me REALLY homesick. I've been listening to Garifuna music all evening since coming home. Played my drums for a while, and now I'm resorting to whiskey to put me in a better mood. Not turning out the way I planned. Not really feeling any better. Just worse. I wanna go home

No, you're right on both accounts. Whiskey is not the answer. And no, Tally-ho isn't that bad. But to be homesick doesn't mean that the place you're at is bad. It just means that you miss being somewhere else. You'll find that wherever this life blows you, there's something about momma's house that still tugs at your heartstrings. That's what I'm in the middle of right now. As great a life as Joy and I make for ourselves, it'll never be the home I grew up in, or the people I've been with at my most naked (emotionally and physically). There's something about being around those people and in that place that replenishes.

Thanks for the comment, though. I'm better today. (and much more clearheaded.) ;-)
