thinking about the last calvin & hobbes comic often makes me tear up. BTW there's a documentary called dear mr watterson about the impact of the comic trip on people.
Oh my god yes. Watterson was (and is, I'm sure!) such a class act. He gave us a final strip that was positive and awesome and just so C&H but it makes me ineffably sad because there were no more new C&H adventures. I respect he'd said his piece, that comic strips are seriously hard and grueling work, and that he wanted to go out while the product was still amazing (*side eyes Peanuts and Hagar the Horrible*) but I can't help greedily wishing for more of his genius.
I didn't know about that documentary. I'll be checking Netflix tonight! Thank you for the tip!
It's my sincerest pleasure. :D It was such a bittersweet moment: we finally got a brothers-being-good-to-each-other moment but then...! The writers are trying to kill me. :|
