I remember calling you from a payphone in Battery Park when I was wandering around New York one night in the summer of 2002. I can't recall if you answered or not, but that's the one thing I do remember

I remember vividly an old Diaryland entry of yours, wherein during some fight you were having with your mom, I think (I forget what about), you said "My GOD! I wrote a hit play!" and your mom took you to task for being obsessed with "that stupid movie." I never forgot that because I, too, by that point had taken to using a few Rushmore quotes out of context in certain real-life situations, and "I wrote a hit play!" was one of them. Sorry if that's a sore memory for you, but yeah.
