This was my absolute favorite song when I was little. I used to drive my mom nuts to play me the record over and over. It was apparently re-recorded by Elmo a couple of years ago, but Big Bird trumps Elmo anyday.
I also may have just downloaded it and sang along.

I also have a completely beaten to hell Super Grover somewhere around my house.

Yeah, screw Elmo. Sesame Street went down the tubes after they let Elmo and his scary-ass CGI crayon crap take over. They made two crucial wrong assumtions:

1. that the Tickle-Me-Elmo doll was popular because kids like it
2. that Elmo was popular

NOBODY LIKES ELMO, not even kids! He only existed on the show in the first place to play the naive character against some actually funny monster. Screw Elmo.
