"Nii-chan! Wake up! Your alarm has been going for 20 minutes already!" Raiya was pounding on his brother's door. We wanted to stop the noise but Yuto's room was lock so all he could do wait outside.
"Nii-chan!!!!!" He shouted even louder. A little while later the noise stopped then he heard shuffling noises inside. He pressed his ear on the door to hear better but it suddenly bursted open making him fall back.
"Ohayou." Yuto came out half awake with his hair all messy and his movement was sloppy plus he reeked of alcohol.
"Nii-chan, you should've turned that off 20 minutes ago. You know how loud it is." Raiya scolded his older brother.Yuto just ruffled his hair then went inside the bathroom.
"He sure did change after he left." Raiya sighed while shaking his head. He went down stairs and then heard a knock on the door. He looked at the clock and it showed 8:00AM.
"Just in time." He opened the front door and on the steps was a red rose laying with a small tag. He picked it up then removed the tag while bringing it to his brother's room and placed it in the vase with the other roses.
"Another one came?" Raiya heard his brother's voice. Yuto was out fresh from the shower and was drying his hair with a towel.
"Yup. It just arrived. That makes 10 today." For the past 10 days there was a rose that was being left in front of the Nakajima household's doorstep. Their bell would ring at exactly 8:00AM and when they opened the door they would find no one but a single rose on the floor with Yuto's name on it.
"Maybe there's a hidden meaning behind this." Raiya concluded.
"Of course there would. Why would someone bring me roses and just so it for fun?" Yuto answered. He was finish putting on some clothes then he grabbed his satchel as his cellphone on the bedside table.
"What time are you coming home?" Raiya turned towards his big brother who stopped on his door step. He looked back and gave Raiya a smile.
"Don't wait up for me." With that said he then walked away. Raiya was still inside Yuto's room looking at the roses. He heard their front door open and then close.
"I wish you would come back." Raiya sighed. He left Yuto's room without forgetting to let a little sunshine enter the room and nourish the roses.
Yuto was riding the train to the agency. He was just in time to find a place to sit. Yuto pulled his mask up and pressed his sunglasses up too. He had his earphones on and turned up the music to the highest level then closed his eyes feeling the beat.
"Yuto-kun." Yuto shot his eyes open. He removed his earphones rather harshly and his heart beat was fast. He heard the train announcing his stop so he fixed himself up and left as soon as the door opened.
Yuto arrived at the agency just in time. He walked down the hall and stopped in front of a door.
Hey! Say! JUMP was pasted on it. When he looked at it, painful memoried flooded his mind again. He rested his hand on the door then clenched his fist.
"Ohayou Yuto." Someone tapped him on the shoulder giving him a slight jolt. He looked back and saw a smiling Hikaru.
"Ohayou." Yuto replied with a slight nod.
"Aren't you going inside?" Hikaru opened the door for both of them. As they entered they could see the members busy doing what they usually do.
"Ohayou!" Hikaru greeted with a jolly tone.
"Ohayou gozaimasu." Kei replied as soon as he noticed Hikaru sitting beside him on the couch while Yuto settled on the opposite couch.
"Ah by the way Yuto there's a letter for you. It's on the table." Kei pointed the table behind them and on top of it was an envelope.
"Who's it from?" Yuto asked. Kei shrugged his shoulders then continued on with his work. Yuto got off the couch and walked up to the table. He grabbed the envelope and saw his name written on it. He turned it to the other side to find something more than his name that was written but there wasn't. He tore the envelope open and took the letter out.
"Nothing's written here." The paper was blank. He tried the other side but it was blank too. Maybe someone was playing a prank on him was what he thought. He got annoyed that he threw the paper away and returned back to his seat.
"So who was it from?" Hikaru asked him as soon as he saw Yuto return.
"It didn't say."
"What was inside?"
"Nothing." Yuto sighed.
"Oh come on I'm sure it wasn't that secretive."
"No literally, there was nothing written even the paper felt weird. It had small holes or dots on them." Yuto felt the texture of the paper and it was quite rough on some places and some places were smooth.
"Gather up! We're about to start practice!" Yabu's voice was heard around the room. They all stopped what they were doing then gathered in the middle and sat on the floor.
"So there's only a month left till our concert so we have to perfect everything this week so no more distractions." Yabu warned them. They were always on their phone now a days and it always shorten their practice time.
"Hai!" The rest of the members answered. They then started practicing their dance for their upcoming concert. It went on smoothly for two hours but after which Yuto suddenly slammed Yuya on the wall clutching his collar and giving him a menacing glare.
"What did you say?!" Yuto's voice was deadly. The other members were just there looking at the two of them not even trying to stop the two of them from killing each other.
"I said the way you're doing the step is wrong. You don't need to get angry." Yuya pushed Yuto away from him. He clicked his tongue in annoyance then walked away from Yuto bumping him on the shoulder on purpose. It ticked Yuto off even more.
"Do you think you can do a better job than me?!" Yuto was fuming in anger now that he could kill someone and right now Yuya was his target.
"Yes I do. You don't even deserve the place you're in after what you've done." Yuya looked back to Yuto and saw his expression turn even deadlier. The members knew it was already too much so Yabu stopped them.
"Don't fight in the middle of practice." Yuya returned back to the other members while Yuto was still where he is, still giving Yuya glares but Yuya wasn't intimidated by it.
"Yuto, hurry up and let's continue practice." Yabu announced again.
"You don't need me. I know you'll do fine without me. You're all thinking about that aren't you?" Yuto shouted. His anger has already consumed him and he couldn't be stopped once he's started.
"It was better if I were missing and not him! Atleast he would be of use to all of you!." Yuto grabbed his bag and walked towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Yabu was already stressed. He has been for 2 years already. He doesn't know how he's cope up with it or how long will it last.
"None of your business. No one cares if I jumped off a bridge anyway." He closed the door with a loud bang leaving everyone inside with still the same expressionless face but Chinen looked like he had enough.
"I can't take it." He fell down on the floor and palmed his face.
"2 years is already long enough for me to endure this." He added.
"If only I was there to protect him then this would've never happened."
"We all feel that way Chii... we all do." Daiki knelt beside him and ran his hand up and down Chinen's back.
What happened two years ago really broke JUMP apart. It destroyed every friendship that was built for 6 years. The day the ace, Yamada Ryosuke disappeared.
It was winter at that time and Ryosuke and Yuto's relationship has never been better. They were the best of friends and you'll always see them together and never apart. From the time they arrive at the Jimusho until they go home. They both expected that they would get closer to one another but Yuto didn't expect to fall for his best friend so one night while they were going home from work he thought of telling Ryosuke what he truly feels.
"You're wearing your glasses most of the time now aren't you?" Yuto asked Ryosuke who was putting on his thick frames.
"Un... my eyesight is getting worse and if I don't wear my glasses my head gets dizzy." Ryosuke explained. Their walk home was unusually quiet, well, Ryosuke is not really that talkative but Yuto was and Ryosuke found it unusual.
"Is there something you wanna tell me Yuto?" He looked at him and Yuto was drained. How did Ryosuke know he had something to tell him? Did Ryosuke know what he was going to say? His palm started to get sweaty and he couldn't say a word.
"Ano... aahh... uunnn.... Yama-chan?" He started off. It's now or never he thought. Ryosuke stopped his tracks and looked back at Yuto. It was almost midnight, the sidewalk was deserted and the road had only a few cars passing by.
"You did have something to tell me?" Ryosuke gave a chuckle. He was just joking about what he said. He just wanted to crack up a topic but he never thought Yuto was trying to tell him something.
"Hai. I do." A chance like this only comes once so Yuto couldn't let it pass. Suppressing the feeling is getting tougher day by day. He wants Ryosuke to know how he feels. He needs to let it all out.
"What is it? We've been best friends for a long time now. You don't need to hold back." Ryosuke moved right in front of Yuto and showed him an assuring smile. A smile calms Yuto down and it helps him get through this.
"Yama-chan, Suki dayo." Yuto said out straight. He wants to convey it properly and what better way than to say it as it is.
Yuto looked at Ryosuke's reaction and it was not something he expected. Tears ran down Ryosuke's cheeks and his expression showed shocked and sorry.
"Gomenasai." Ryosuke apologized. He started moving away slowly but Yuto caught his wrist preventing him from getting away.
"Nande? Can you atleast tell me your reason?" Yuto felt totally crushed. He did foresee that he might get dumped but he never thought it would hurt this way. He felt like he was being beaten to death and no one came to save him.
"I-I can't. I'm sorry." Ryosuke tried to break free again but Yuto's grip just got tighter.
"Do you hate me?" He asked Ryosuke.
"No. I love you." Ryosuke said. Yuto was surprised with his answer and at the same time confused.
"Then why are you saying sorry if you feel the same way as I do?"
"I don't want to see you suffer." Yuto stiffen in his place. Suffer? Why would he suffer when he's Ryosuke? Everything Ryosuke said right now is not processing at all.
"But I'll suffer more when I don't know even the reason you're acting this way." Ryosuke found the right timing of breaking free when Yuto's grip loosened.
"I just can't be with you. You'll regret it in the end." Ryosuke took a step back as Yuto took one towards him.
"Just tell me one good reason." Yuto was almost pleading. You could see tears forming on the base of his eyes and so is Ryosuke.
"I just can't." They didn't realize it but they were already on the road. They weren't paying attention to where they were standing.
BEEP BEEP!!!
Yuto was able to act fast and walked back to the sidewalk trying to grab Ryosuke too but it was too late. Ryosuke was stuck in his place and the car fast that Ryosuke was thrown 3 meters away.
"Ryosuke!" Yuto awoke from his slumber and he felt his head was banging.
"Ah. You're awake. Hikaru-kun and Inoo-kun brought you home. They saw you sitting on the sidewalk drunk and babbling words." Yuto woke up in his room and Raiya was bringing in a towel and a basin of cold water.
"My head hurts like hell." He tried massaging his temples but the pounding still won't stop.
"You've been drinking everyday for two years and you're still not used to it?" Raiya amusingly said. He handed Yuto some pain relievers and a glass of water.
"Nope. It just gets worse." Yuto replied him. He returned the glass to Raiya and accepted it quite harshly.
"Then you should know when to stop deshou?!" He was almost getting mad. For two years Yuto has always been in this state and he was right, it does get worse everyday. Raiya loves his brother so much and it sometimes hurts him to see him like this. Sometimes he's mad at his brother for wasting himself.
"Oi, I don't ask you to take care of me everytime I get drunk. Don't go complaining about it." Yuto scolded him. It's his own life and he doesn't need his little brother to meddle with it.
"Hountou? Are you sure you're gonna be fine alone? Without the others help you'd be found dead on the steps of the Jimusho." Raiya knew what he said hurted Yuto but he wanted him to understand what he meant by it too. Yuto saw Raiya leaving his room and he lied back down his bed sighing.
Two years ago on the night of the accident Ryosuke was sent to the hospital. Yuto wanted to stay for the night but the nurses and Ryosuke's doctor did not permit him. He kept reasoning out with them but they still didn't allow Yuto in. He went home cursing that night.
The next morning he woke up early and rushed to the hospital. He asked for Ryosuke's room number but the nurse at the desk said that he was discharged already. Yuto was in shock. With all those wounds he had, he couldn't be discharged that fast. Yuto still asked Ryosuke's room number and when he arrived there no one was inside.
"What do you mean he's missing?" Daiki asked Yuto once he arrived in the dressing room. All the members were looking at Yuto with a confused expression. They all gathered around Yuto waiting for his explanation. Yuto told them everything that happened that night.
"Did you check his house?" Keito asked this time.
"Hai. I went there after I left the hospital. The house was empty. The door was open so I took a look inside and everything was gone." Yuto answered them. JUMP was very quiet that day. They don't know what to do or where to find Ryosuke. They asked Johnny-san about the issue but just like them the president didn't know where Ryosuke was. After that time JUMP started crumbling down. Fights would usually occur between practices and Yuto was drifting from the rest of them isolating himself. The other members don't want to blame Yuto for what happened but it was Yuto himself saying that the others are just keeping it to themselves and some of them were.
Yuto had been depressed ever since. He kept on drinking alcohol every night after work and he'll come home very late in the evening or early in the morning.
"Yuto-kun." There was it again. Yuto abruptly sat up on his bed and the sudden pain struck again. He looked at the clock and it showed 8:00AM. A little while later a knock on his door was heard.
"Come in." The knob turned and Raiya came in bringing a red rose with him.
"Just in time." He placed it in the vase again then walked out Yuto's room.
"Ne Raiya." Yuto called his name out. He looked back to him in response.
"Gomen ne." Raiya showed him a small smile.
"Ore mo nii-chan. " he saw Yuto giving him a smile too. He turned back again then walked out the room.
Yuto walked out the house in his casual wear and only bringing his phone and wallet with him. He was riding a bullet train again. Yuto was planning on calming his mind today. He closed his eyes and tried to relax.
"Yuto-kun." He heard someone calling him and it was his voice which he heard. He looked around the train trying to spot him but it looked impossible.
"Yuto-kun." There it goes again. Yuto got more and more anxious. He kept on looking around and at the far end near the door he saw a small guy with brunette hair.
"Yama-chan?" He said softly. The train announces it stop and the doors open. The brunette walked out the train and Yuto followed him. There were a lot of people so Yuto had a hard time tracking him down but he eventually sees him and he wasn't alone. There was woman beside him a little bit taller than him and she was holding his arm like guiding him. Yuto can only see his back so he wasn't sure if it is really him but he still kept on following them.
Yuto saw them enter a garden and he followed them. Inside the place was a beautiful garden full of different kinds of roses from all colors and sizes. Yuto was awestruck but he didn't forget his goal. He looked for the said man around the place. At the end of the garden he saw the most beautiful red roses he ever saw. Actually it was the same roses he had been receiving but seeing hundreds of them were breathtaking. Yuto walked closer and saw the guy looking at the roses too. He could still only see his back so he still wasn't sure. Yuto walked further in until he was like 2 meters away from him. Yuto was about to tap him in the shoulder when he accidentally snapped a twig on the ground.
"Eh? Who's out there?" The guy turned around and faced Yuto. Yuto was stunned in his place.
"I've found you." Yuto said loud enough for both of them to hear. Yuto looked at him with tears in his eyes. He couldn't imagine this was happening. He was still as beautiful as before but what Yuto realized what that Ryosuke's eyes were quite cloudy and dull.
"Y-yuto-kun? Is that you?" he heard him ask.
"Of course it is. Can't you see I'm right in front of you?" He saw Ryosuke give a bitter smile and Yuto was surprised by it.
"You are right Yuto-kun. I can't see you. Not anymore."
