Really, really awful friends.

Personally, I'd expect the Bride's Maid to just throw a party at some point... if there are expenses involved, they get all the friends to chip in.

Wow, weddings are ridiculously over-celebrated. I mean, how many gifts and parties does one couple need? Sure customs are fun, but they should be just that: fun, not burdening obligations.

I just can't imagine asking anyone to do all this for me and then getting pissed when they aren't willing to go into debt for it. Silly people. Though I'm sure that article only covers one extreme end of the spectrum.
