Not to mention what's best for the child. Or is being left in an orphanage unwanted and unprovided for at legal age better for the child than being adopted by 1-2 loving and capable parents who are willing to provide for him/her?

That's why I always laugh when I read the courts did it "for the good of the child." If that were true, they also wouldn't reverse adoptions (studies showing that kids who are returned to their birth parents usually do not fair as well as thos who aren't).
