Three years.
Yeah I haven't updated in a while, either life stuff was too stressful or boring so *shrug*
But today it's been three years since my mom passed away, thus an update in remembrance.
Dad and I didn't sleep well last night (he couldn't fall asleep, while I was busy cooking etc). We both got about 3-4 hours. We took a ride to the beach, which is what we do for our family holidays and anniversaries because mom loved the beach.
Now the whole time I've been down state I can practically count on my hand the number of cranes and/or herons I have seen. We got close to the beach and saw a pair of egrets. Then before we knew it, what was a pair was four, then 5, then 7, there was a whole flock of them that flew over the car. It was surreal. So cool. I haven't taken enough pics with my phone to be able to quickly find the camera function so I couldn't get a pic then. It was really awesome though.
When we finally got the beach we'd been standing there looking out for a few minutes when dad got bit by a horsefly. Then it keeps trying to bite him. Usually, the bugs go after me. But this horsefly wouldn't leave dad alone. The other year when we went to the beach the same thing had happened to me (only the thing kept flying in my face ugh). Dad was funny, he kept moving closer to me hoping he could transfer the fly's focus on me instead XD
it didn't work. We saw some egrets still flying around so I tried to take some pics but I don't think they came out very well. There was also a heron that flew right near us it was so cool~ *_*
On the way back (the horsefly followed us btw =_=;) we stopped at my aunts. Before we got out of the car a GIANT dragonfly tried to fly through the windshield then flew away. I'm not kidding, that was the biggest dragonfly I've ever seen in my life. It looked prehistoric (which was scary =_= although it was cool to see).We were having a nice talk but it was getting close to lunchtime and we still had some shopping to get done and then go pack my stuff so I was a little anxious to get started. We also rescued a moth and saw a pretty yellow warbler~ My uncle showed up as we were leaving so dad stopped to talk to him for a minute. Well while I wasn't looking a wasp landed on my foot. o_o I thought it was a mosquito so I looked down to a horrible realization. Dad shooed him away from me but ugh orz I was in the car so fast. XD
Then the horsefly showed back up and bit dad right in the back so he jumped in the car too and we left hahaha XD
got our shopping done with minimal hassle yay~
had lunch, then had to pack, which involved cleaning and organizing. Fitting for mom's day. It was a beautiful day though, not that hot, nice breeze, really nice.
I made dinner for the both of us while I did some last minute laundry. It took a few hours to get everything ready to go but not that long to get the stuff loaded up so yay~ Jojo's been flipping so she must since I'm leaving for campus soon hahaha
I guess this is also like a last day of summer update too. *shrugs* my summer was alright, I didn't get done nearly what I wanted to/planned to, I was way more stressed out than I thought I was going to be, I got sick a few times which sucked, in between panic attacks and some minor depression so that wasn't fun. So it's a little hard to believe summer's over because I expected to get a lot more relaxation in and you can't remember stuff well when you're stressed. I had a lot of issues that were keeping me preoccupied so that's a little bleh. But I did get some notes typed up, some models made, got back in touch with my beta, saw a couple movies (maybe more complete week update later....hmm), and I feel better mentally/emotionally. I have a lot of things I'm looking forward to this fall/winter so I can't say I'm missing summer really....I'm going to miss the free time I guess but since I couldn't really enjoy it anyway due to stress then it doesn't really matter ne, it doesn't feel free. *shrugs*
anyway, take care everyone. Off to wash almost every dish we own and fold laundry before I go to bed (so tired) only to get up early again (hahaha oi orz).
