Junior Term Abroad

Anyone who wants to meet with me? :)

I'm in this program in my university called the Junior Term Abroad (JTA) program. This is basically an exchange program with partner universities around the globe wherein students like me apply and then if accepted, will be studying in the chosen host university for more or less 4 months.

At first, I really didn't expect that I would get in because I was waitlisted for a spot (my grades didn't actually meet the minimum grade required but my numerous extracurricular activities managed to fill up for that). Around late March and early April, I submitted a reconsideration letter and thankfully, they accepted me in! \O/

I chose a fall term in Global Ewha Womans University (host university) in South Korea therefore, other students who also chose a fall term in their respective universities had to take this JTA semester in my school from mid-April to mid-July. This semester is super crammed especially since we're all taking our major subjects. I'm just glad that the suffering is sort of over (for now). All those nights where my groupmates and I were running on caffeine just to meet deadlines and to prepare for mock defenses and defenses; days when we were up for at least 36 hours.

Now that those are things of the past, SOUTH KOREA HERE I COME. :)

I'll be leaving the country to go to Korea in roughly about two or so weeks. Although, the school constantly reminds us that we are there as students before anything else but can you really blame us? We'll be in a totally different country for 4 months without parental supervision. OH The things we can do (not that I'm planning anything. Seriously!)! My batchmates that are going to France are already planning on going to all the other European countries they can grab their hands on.

I already have a list of places that I wanna visit so it's just a matter of time before I can go to them all. Hehe Not only that but I heard that foreigners can actually go to the concerts for FREE!! FREE I TELL YA! Maybe not all concerts are like that but still! I pay a lot of money just to see idols perform here in my country so WOOOOOOOOO for FREE! :)

The only downside to this is that JYJ (the other ultimate group that I stan) just released their second album, had their annual membership week last July 31 to August 4, and going to hold a concert in Seoul today. ALL OF WHICH I FREAKIN' MISSED!!! They're the only group (apart from TVXQ) that I absolutely am obsessed about and I don't even get to see them! HUHUHUHU Not to mention that I'm also missing the SM Town Tour! This means that I am neither going to see JYJ nor TVXQ in my whole stay in Korea or for any future visits I have for the next 2 or so years since they are going to enlist for their mandatory military service soon. HUHUHU I constantly ask myself, HOW CAN THIS BE HAPPENING? ;A; But I've slowly come to terms with this and just focus on how this is such a good opportunity for me.

Oh, I will stay in the dormitory of the host university (except for the last week). *wink wink*
