The car ride home was spent calming herself down. And for the most part, it worked. There were times when she had wild mood 180's however, going from rational to completely beside herself with fear. "I'm in the study." He said, though not loudly enough for her to hear. She seemed to be heading the right way anyhow.
His hair had greyed over the last few days. Not completely, but a nice collection at the temples that he had yet to get died. He didn't fit into his clothes anymore, either, like he'd lost muscle tone and he felt tired ...

How could she not have noticed even a change in herself? But there was a change, there was a change in how she felt, full of energy, clarity. She missed it because she was looking for off behavior, pain, something bad.
"Oh, Justin what have you done?" Love is blind, but in the light of the revelation his change was hard to miss. Crossing over to him she shrugs out of her coat and leaves it on an empty chair before pressing to him.

Always the good soldier. The butcher when he need to be. The protector for others. He always found the strength to do what needed to be done ...
He felt better when she was near. Like he could feel the power he'd gave up for her once more. He wrapped his arms around her as she pressed into him.
He wasn't sure exactly what she was referring to, but that was the answer regardless.

She sinks into his arms and wraps around him in return, holding on to him as hard as she can. That annoying wet that had been bugging her eyes leaks out on to him. Why does she feel so achingly sad?
