“Daddy! Daddy! Read the story again. Read the story again!”

“Ok,” Logan conceded turning the book over to start reading again the story again.

When Logan finished reading the story to the little girl, she cried, “Again, Daddy, again!”

“Not tonight sweetie, someone needs to sleep.” Logan said as he stood of the bed and turned to tuck the girl in.

“But why Daddy?!” the little girl continued to wail.

“Because if you don’t sleep then how will you dream of your own monster.”

The little girl gasped, “Monsters, daddy. Where are the monsters?”

“Well I can tell you where they aren’t. They aren’t under the bed,” Logan said dramatically falling to the ground and pulling the sheets back so he could check, “And I bet there not in the closet,” He continued as he stood and threw the cupboard open, “So I think you’re going to be fine. There’s only one monster you have to worry about.”

The little girl gasped, “What monster is that?”

“The tickle monster,” Logan said before jumping on the bed and tickling the girl. Unknown to Logan his wife had come to stand at the door and was smiling at his teasing of the girl.

“Children,” she called to the pair, “It’s time for the young ones to go to bed.”

“Mommy,” the little girl whined, “I don’t too.”

“Yeah, mommy we don’t want to.”

“Well then daddy, I guess there will be no time to play before your bed time.”

“Ok, then, sweetie it’s time for bed.”

“Daddy, you caved again.” The little girl said with a tiny pout and head tilt.

Logan sighed, “Veronica, I thought we talked about this. You’re not supposed to teach her to do that. And you, sweetie, stop tilting that sweet little head of yours and go to sleep.”

“Just like Max.”

“Just like Max.” Logan whispered before kissing his daughter on the forehead and heading towards the door where Veronica was standing. Grabbing her hand Logan pulled her towards their tiny library. He replaced the book onto the shelf before pulling his wife towards him.

“You caved,” Veronica said with a little shake of the head.

“I did but you where the one who read Where the Wild Things Are first.”

“So it’s all my fault she likes this story.”

“Yeah but I’ll forgive you if we can play.” Logan said with a waggle of his eyebrows.

“I think that can be arranged,” Veronica whispered before placing her lips on his.
