Hypothetical Crime:

People's possessions have been stolen. People are in the house at the time, as far as one can tell. But they have no account of anyone robbing them.

This has happened multiple times.

What's happening.

They sleepwalk and move things, or throw them out.

No, they claim to have been awake the whole time.

Well, there's a number of different methods that could be used, from the realistic to the fanciful.

First, the standard silent cat-burglar. Enter through an unusual method, avoid doing damage or making noise. So long as the residents are in another room, or don't notice you, they'd never know what hit them. Not the most practical, but quite possible.

Second, sleeping gas. Filter the gas in somehow, knock out those inside, and rob them blind. They'd wake up completely unaware. Not especially cost effective, but fairly easy to pull off.

Third, memory alteration. Rob them blind, then wipe their memory of the event. Riskier, but with the new market in duel spirit items, it's quite possible.

Fourth, either freeze time or just move really fast. Probably the most fanciful method, but it can be done. Why anyone would stick to simple burglary if they can do that is anyone's guess.

1) Quite possible.

2) Not doable, people claim to have been awake whole time.

3) ... Oh right.

4) People are greedy and petty?

3) Yes. Seems like there's a lot of stuff... changes to personality. Wouldn't be surprised if some of it could be used for... less than ethical ends.

4) Sure, but if you can stop time, why not rob a bank? Or an art museum? Or a gold repository?

3) It usually is in the Duel Spirit Worlds. Usually things are manipulated, blown up, or settled with cards.

4) Too Obvious?
