OHH YEEEEEEES

Thanks to zidane for finding that article with KORRA'S FACE and also, KORRA'S MUSCLES. OH YES.

In Hunger Games-related news, racebending.com has found that the media this time has noticed the problematic casting language, some with references to The Last Airbender, Prince of Persia and even the whitewashed Earthsea miniseries.

it's not a tan, the legend of korra

There is really only word to describe my feelings for Korra right now. 'Unf'.

Also sadface to hear that part about the Hunger Games. Though I guess I must've just completely missed that description of her as 'olive skinned' for some reason, because I kept imagining Katniss as pale-white like some 18th century London-chimney sweep child. THE MORE YOU KNOW?

I actually have yet to read the series (I AM GETTING TO IT! ...EVENTUALLY!), but from what I've heard, it's a pretty obvious point. Are you reading a translated version? Maybe it's a little different in that.

Mmm, it's the Swedish version! Though on the other hand I think its mostly me- whenever peoples looks are described in books, I tend to glaze over and skip. I'm a bad reader like that ;_;
