that people are so much friendlier to me when im carrying something. the other day i was walking down the street with a potted plant in my arm, and everyone smiled.. then later that day i was bringing home a sweet-ass mixer (see pic) and again, many random people found reason to speak to me, not exclusively about the mixer. so, ive decided to,

elliot! this is something i have noticed as well! i always say to myself that i need to carry unique objects with me wherever i go but i never do. i guess it is the same reason why people wear t-shirts that reference things on them - like bands are skateboards - it is a good conversation starter if you like those things. it makes you seem less threatening too of course. unless the band is sepultura or something.

please let me know if you follow through with this. we should compile a list of the most successful items to be caught with in public?

this time it was as simple as a couple plastic crates with recycling in them, i only went a short distance, but once again caught the eye of a good looking girl. how very strange. more than a list of items, and random experiments, i think we need a unified theory of items carried and their social potential.
