Umno and the rest of the government have been really spooked by the latest general election results.

The new cabinet announced has all new faces replacing the tired, complacent (Rafidah) even stupid ones (Nazri, I'm looking at you).

The new Information Minister has talked about meeting and talking with bloggers, who the previous minister and government had dismissed as a bunch of dreamers with their heads stuck up their ass. It's funny to see the ruling coalition finally acknowledge that the official media pretty much sucks and the citizens prefer using the net to voice their real opinions. Already articles in the official news media chides journalists and the media in general for coddling up to the ruling party. So ironic, since that has been the unstated media policy anyway, say something bad about the government and you risk your license being revoked.

The new law minister who has some brains, (unlike his predecessor who was a complete dumb fuck) is now talking about apologising for the Tun Salleh Abbas affair...which was 20 years ago!. Our then Lord President of Malaysia (top Judge) was unfairly dismissed and the entire judiciary was filled up with corrupt, inept judges. It's amusing to see the Minister scrambling to apologise about something which most young people are unaware of.

It's like overnight, the entire political power structure in this country realised, the people are pissed at you. You are being held accountable. You will be held accountable. Our politicians have been getting away with crimes and misdemeanors for as long as I've been alive and they thought the rest of us would swallow their crap and keep quiet, all for the sake of stability and unity. They just plain didn't realise Malaysians of today are far more savvy, intelligent, worldly, sophisticated then ever before. The same tired fear-mongering tactics, racial politics and the idea of gratitude to the government...no longer works. WE should not be grateful to the government for providing us with a good quality of life, thats what we task them to do anyway. It's their duty to provide it! even if we aren't 'grateful'. The government should be grateful to the people for giving them the opportunity to serve the nation.

It didn't help matters when ministers and other politicians act arrogantly and condescendingly as if no criticism can affect them. Well Sammy, Rafidah, KJ, Zainudin Maidin, and even Pak Lah himself for being half-awake at the helm, eat crow!
