It's the Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend. Actually, it's tomorrow. And while I'm not too inclined to really celebrate it (I barely understand the idea behind the celebration, really.), I still did my share of basking in the Thanksgiving spirit.

And that's a very good point you've brought up. Here in Oz, I don't see that many homeless people all at once, but I do get that feeling of despair. Whereas in the Philippines, you can still see street urchins playing and laughing, and beggars will still crack toothless grins whenever the opportunity arises. Still, I don't know if it's something to be proud of - the government might just use it as an excuse to say, "Hey look, our people are poor but at least they're still happy"
And good job on volunteering - wish I could do something as charitable as well! :)
