What do you guys think would be fair prices for sketch and chibi/SD commissions?
I was thinking 5 bucks per character for sketches but have no idea for chibis... since my SD style is more cartoony than tiny&fat like most they still take a bit of work, haha.

art, hey flist

i'd say at least $8. but style shouldn't matter, especially when they are attractive. "different" doesn't mean fugly, bb.

I would start with a base of $10 for the sketches, but make additional characters $5 for the sketches. I think that way it is worth your time, but pairings aren't too pricey. However, those are really clean sketches. I usually pay $20 for commissions like that.

The color SD style stuff you can definitely charge more for if they are going to be in color and done as nicely as that. Your example picture would easily start at $30 and work its way up.

Yeah, I was gonna say, that second picture is really clean and nice-looking and I can see how it would take a while to make. Just because we like drawing doesn't mean we should do it for way below minimum wage or something! 30 bucks sounds like a fair price starting point to me for something that finished. But it looks like she's already charging below that for cell-shaded stuff... and I dunno how long it takes to make them. So maybe I should just wander away now. xD
