This is not going up in the main comm 'cause it's something I'm curious about just on a me-type basis. Also, I may be cross-posting it to my personal journal eventually. Is it sad that I trust you guys more than my own FL?
I-i had to click each box XD; There are lots of quirks I've picked up from RPing and in the IRC channel; aside from the ones you listed I space out my dots now (. . . as opposed to ...) and I'm slooowly switching to putting action tags in brackets instead of asterisks. I also CAPSLOCK MOAR and misspell things purposely now. One thing I love about the IRC channel and the game itself is that talking (ooc and IC) feels a heck of a lot more natural for some reason TTb
--and I'm not in any other RPs or games at the moment, but now when I post on other forums or communities I have to FORCE myself to write a decent comment. On IRC I'd say something like "/me loev this episode omg |DDDDD" but in a forum comment it'd be like "This was a really well done episode! I especially liked when [BLAH BLAH etc]"
TO ANSWER MY OWN POLL a little more mostly because I fail at expressing myself:
I, uh, obviously do all of the above. In fact, this poll is slightly biased due to the fact that these kinds of things were tics that I noticed in myself. I've learned a lot of new emoticons \o/ and dropped some older ones --; and o-of course there's lots of random typing tics that I blame on CFUD. I've also noticed that, for all the casual crazy goodness, I can snap right back to formal reeeeally quickly if the situation calls for it. ... and honestly talking to PM with one person also affects my talking habits. I TALK A LOT LIKE BOX after chatting with her for a while, for example. Also, Aviy >D
I've used it before! But it is still totally an Aviy face >D I associate it with her sobadly. To the point where I thought she was faking not being Chad because Sano used it on me in the voting post anonymously, ahaha.
Aside from actual CFUD references (which I now make all the time without thinking whether the person I'm talking to will get them or not), I've definitely picked up emoticons -- there are a bunch that I abuse now that I'd never even seen before CFUD, like |D and :< and :Db and stuff. A- and yeah, the stuttering probably comes from CFUD too. ((And for a more general RPing-related habit, I've been using double brackets for asides in OOC comments for years now. Not all the time, but every now and then, out of force of habit.))
