I'd be happy to be his friend!

[ Martel's that kind of person to agree to be friends with a total stranger, and her motherly instincts won't allow her to turn down the boy's request. ]

It's nice to meet you too, Miss Martel! [Yes, he's using "Miss", he never uses Miss. Never hurts to be polite to potential friends.] I trust you had no problems finding this place?

[And he'll just be giving Elliot a slight push to egg him on to speak. Be polite, Master Nightray.]

[Thankfully, it's been much easier for Elliot to be polite these past few days, so he doesn't glare at his servant or even complain about the nudge. ...even though he'd really like to.

Still, his response is kind of mumbled once again.]

It's nice to see you, too...

You can just call me Martel. Miss sounds so formal.

[ She takes little note of Elliot's not so enthusiastic greeting and instead examines the outer layout of the house. ]

So is there a place where you would like to make the garden?

[Elliot turns, looking back toward the house when she asks that. Technically, he has the authority here and could make this decision entirely on his own, but experiment or not, he can't help but regard his servant, too, when he makes his suggestion.]

The backyard?

[He didn't want to get in the way of Vincent's roses. ...and Leo had better be helping him with this, too, so it makes sense to seek his opinion as well.]

There should be some space there.

All right! Please lead the way. Oh and . . .

[ She turns to the bag hanging from her shoulder and digs inside. Her face turns into an expression of triumph as she pulls out a few paper packets. ]

I wasn't sure what kinds of flowers you liked so I just brought all the seeds I have.

[There are no gates around this property so it's possible to walk to the backyard without encountering any. Leo's about to lead the way (since he's aware of where the gardening tools and what not are in this house-- nobles don't get their hands dirty) when Martel produces those seeds.]

That should do fine. What kind of seeds do you have, Martel?

[Elliot will go ahead of them. He assumes that Leo will retrieve the gardening tools eventually, so he isn't worried about that. He listens to the two of them speak, though, as he looks around for a spot that might be nice for a garden.]

All kinds! And I made sure that they're flowers that don't die easily since this is your first time having a garden.

There's a few coneflower seeds. They're a little like sunflowers but not quite. The petals are either pink, yellow, orange, or other colors of a similar shade. Oh and some daylilies. They look beautiful in the sunlight. The petals are practically glowing.

I also have some peonies, lily stars, blue bells, asters and . . . a few blue mountain flowers.

[ Unknown to her, a light blush touched her cheeks at the mention of the last flower. Those were her favorite flowers only because the color reminded her of her fiancé's hair. ]

[Are they walking? They're walking. He notices that blush, though he doesn't quite mention anything about it-- perhaps she's shy? Or perhaps she really likes flowers; it's hard to tell.]

Ahh, that's quite a lot. I'm not certain we can fit everything in.

I think we'll find a solution. I planted plenty of gardens before so we should be able to figure something out.

[ Not one to leave people out of a conversation, she called out to Elliot. ]

What about you, Elliot? What do you think?

[Talking about flowers like this... Depending on how large she wanted to make the garden, they probably could plant a little bit of everything, but that seemed like a lot for one afternoon.

His response is once again somewhat mumbled, but it shouldn't be hard to understand him.]

We can give it a try. I... I really want to see the lilies. [Both kinds, that is.] And the blue bells. Then we'll plant anything we have room for. Will that work?

[And this? Is a quiet snerk.]

[ Oblivious to Leo's quiet snerk, she happily nods to Elliot's suggestion. ]

Yes, I think that'll work.

[ She takes a few steps ahead to get closer to Elliot. ]

You must really like lilies and blue bells to want to plant them first. I don't blame you! They're really beautiful in full bloom.

M-my sister would like them. I was just thinking of her.

[No, really!]
