[ Martel's that kind of person to agree to be friends with a total stranger, and her motherly instincts won't allow her to turn down the boy's request. ]

[And he'll just be giving Elliot a slight push to egg him on to speak. Be polite, Master Nightray.]

Still, his response is kind of mumbled once again.]
It's nice to see you, too...

[ She takes little note of Elliot's not so enthusiastic greeting and instead examines the outer layout of the house. ]
So is there a place where you would like to make the garden?
Reply
The backyard?
[He didn't want to get in the way of Vincent's roses. ...and Leo had better be helping him with this, too, so it makes sense to seek his opinion as well.]

[ She turns to the bag hanging from her shoulder and digs inside. Her face turns into an expression of triumph as she pulls out a few paper packets. ]
I wasn't sure what kinds of flowers you liked so I just brought all the seeds I have.

That should do fine. What kind of seeds do you have, Martel?

There's a few coneflower seeds. They're a little like sunflowers but not quite. The petals are either pink, yellow, orange, or other colors of a similar shade. Oh and some daylilies. They look beautiful in the sunlight. The petals are practically glowing.
I also have some peonies, lily stars, blue bells, asters and . . . a few blue mountain flowers.
[ Unknown to her, a light blush touched her cheeks at the mention of the last flower. Those were her favorite flowers only because the color reminded her of her fiancé's hair. ]

Ahh, that's quite a lot. I'm not certain we can fit everything in.

[ Not one to leave people out of a conversation, she called out to Elliot. ]
What about you, Elliot? What do you think?

His response is once again somewhat mumbled, but it shouldn't be hard to understand him.]
We can give it a try. I... I really want to see the lilies. [Both kinds, that is.] And the blue bells. Then we'll plant anything we have room for. Will that work?

Yes, I think that'll work.
[ She takes a few steps ahead to get closer to Elliot. ]
You must really like lilies and blue bells to want to plant them first. I don't blame you! They're really beautiful in full bloom.

[No, really!]
