Pokiru: to awaken by poking
This verb is ichi-dan doushi (ru-verb), acting like okiru.
Choku: to choke
(past tense: choita)
Chokkorosu: to kill by choking

If pokiru is to awaken by poking, would pokeru be to awaken with pocket monsters? *wink wink* ;)

I think pokeru would be to awaken with a beeper (poke-beru). ^.^

I think that's pokemokiru.
Pokeru is "to be able to poke/can poke" (a conjugation of the aforementioned poku).
There's also pokkorosu (to kill by poking) and pokekorosu (to kill by pokemon). Students of Eihongo have difficulty with these two :)
