Dangerous Thoughts

Lately, I've been thinking, not that this should come as anything even remarkably close to suprise. The topic, however, might suprise some small portion of you*.

I've been thinking a lot lately about the usefulness of it all. Oh, not living or learning or anything like that, but talking about this stuff. Seriously! Who wants to read boring ( Read more... )

*grins*

There's only one litmous test: Can you, right now, walk away and do nothing but write, losing your day job to the siren call of laptop and java?

*chuckles* I'd hate to see you go, but I'd love to see you have the /capacity/ to go, should opportunity arise. Not too much longer now, I daresay.

I don't believe the line is nearly as fine as some people make it out to be. Perhaps this is because when they find it, as they inevitably claim they have (who actually considers themselves dogmatic?) it seems more of an accomplishment ( ... )

I don't think we've met, but your thoughts about dialogue are right on.

Thanks. I don't think it's a terribly original sentiment, but it's good to remind one's self once in a while.

Tangentally, once my sister was being shocked at how much she didn't know compared to this one friend of hers. And then I reminded her how much she knew compared to me when she first met me, and how much I knew compared to the average beginning seeker, and how much that beginning seeker knew compared to the average non-seeker. And then I reminded her how much she'd learned from the things that I hadn't learned yet, and how much I'd learned from her.

Who wants to read boring philosophy or ideas about life from a guy like me

::raises hand and waves it energetically in the air::

Without friends like the Big C, robkaiote, iroshi and azurelunatic I'd never have continued learning.

MEEP?! ::blush::

Not that Iroshi makes paper mache' hats. Though she might - I never asked her.

I have been known to make folded paper hats, but I've never done paper mache. And BELIEVE me, I have far more than enough random extra paper at work than I could ever possibly need - I certainly don't need to print out my *good* reading material to make a hat.

We have a *trash dumpster* taller than my waist, that E and I could literally both stand in (it'd be a tight squeeze, admittedly) that we use for recycling paper. It gets emptied EVERY WEEK. If they forget to come empty it on Friday, I have to call them on Monday because it's overflowing.
