[Translation] WINK-UP 2010.09 - KAT-TUN

Sep 27, 2010 15:15

I don't know if this one has been translated by someone else, but anyway...
I recently translated for my friends random KT interviews. I thought it was a waste to let my efforts and my translations rot half-done in my HD; moreover, I usually barely find KT translations around the web. So I re-translated some of them in English because I think they're funny and deserve to be read :P
This one talks about foreign languages, so... it was a “must share” with the international fandom, right? XD

**NOTE** They also say some Korean words. I don't speak Korean so I followed the Japanese transcription (but we know how Japanese people are talented with foreign languages). If someone knows what they're talking about, please tell me how to write them XD and I'll correct.

LAUGH WITH PLEASE
After the end of the Tokyo Dome and the Korean exibitions, the “World big tour” will be end soon. During the promotion, there was a time when they went Korea too, so we asked about the interesting points of Korea!

JUNNO

About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
I'm weak! My English scores when I was a student weren't good. But if you ask if I speak or not a school-level English, if I would be in a situation where I have to speak, I think I'd be able to. Preparing our concerts overseas, I plan to buy a Korean language and a Chinese language book. Because I've heard that Japanese and Korean grammar are similar, I think it's only to learn vocabulary. I guess it's impossible to master the language, but I want to say what I want to say, and be able to communicate.

What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
English. It's a worldwide common language, so I want speak it. After seeing at the TV the World Cup Specials, I've seen that the Japanese athlets that play in Europe all speak for example English, and I thought it's wonderful. Even the athlets younger than me, it's fantastic! But I don't know how to study in order to be able to speak it. Even if I study it independently, I won't continue. Somebody put me in an environment where I must study English, please! Because I can't do that first step (laugh).

The last Korean words you learned
“Kamsahamnida”, that is “Thanks”. It's a word you will surely use, so it's important. Another useful sentence I learned is “chonun Taguchi Junnosuke imnida”, “I'm Taguchi Junnosuke”. This is all I've learned up until now, but if I practice more before the concert in Korea, I guess I'll be able to have a longer discussion, right?

The interesting Korean thing that Taguchi suggests
Food! The Karbitan soup I eat in Korea was delicious! Since I don't like very spicy foods, paitan-related soups like samgetan and sorlontan are a must. And chapche. If you're ok with spicy foods, I suppose tegutan or chige pots are ok too, right? If you eat spicy cousine, in this period of the year you're going to sweat, but the air-conditioning inside Korean buildings is almost cold, so I think it's ok.

Recently
Recently I decided to not buy useless things. Surprising, isn't it (laugh)? In a certain way, I've started to think about how the things around me are related with myself. If I were a river, what I would buy at once would be things similar to introduced species of fish. Moreover, now I'm thinking that I want to have only freshwater fishes in my river. Around me there're lots of people that create themselves things, so maybe I want to take their natural way of thinking. But when I saw the 3D TV at a home electronics appliances with Koki, I started to want it too, as I expected! But I guess it's not right for a present. I don't feel it's a right choice (laugh).

KAME

About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
If it's necessary to become familiar with that place, or to live in that country, I'm good. If learning the language is a chance given by work, I think I'd learn it in a messy way. Even now I'm learning a bit of Korean. We're learning it like, to speak in a certain situation and being “ah, they say this thing now”. Since I'm not the type that learns through books, I'm weak in using my head (laugh).

What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
English, Korean, French... All! (laugh) If I'd be able to learn all the languages, I'd be happy. If it's only one, it would be English, since you can communicate everywhere using it. Not American English, I want to learn British English! I like England, I like it so much I don't know by myself either why I'm so charmed. (laugh) I never went to England yet, but now I've got a feeling that I want to try to go there more than anything else. I really want to go, but I can't say at all if my fever for England will decrease or increase.

The last Korean words you learned
“Yorobun, chataptatulimnida”, that is “everyone, nice to meet you”. These are the words I learned to say hello when we go on stage, I guess everyone has learned them. Then, “Oppa”. It means “onii-chan”, if someone will say it to me, I'll be happy, remember it! (laugh) If you meet me in Korea, tell me “oppa, popojuseyo (onii-chan, kiss me)!" Then I'll answer “popojuseyo!” (let's kiss) (laugh)

The interesting Korean thing that Kamenashi suggests
Samgetan! When we eat it in Korea, it was incredibly delicious. Not spicy, there are carrots and seems that it has lots of strong nutrishments. Korea has good cosmetics too. I received lots of face packs as presents, and recently I'm using them. I don't understand what it's written, but I've the feeling “maybe they're face packs” (laugh). Moreover, it depends by the period too, but outside the changing of temperature is incredible, so it's better to bring with you a jacket when you go to Korea.

Recently
When I had free days, I did house cleaning everyday. It's a year that I moved to my actual house, but I've left the cardboard boxes where they were. After I've cleaned them away, there were at least 7 that I didn't need anymore (laugh). After this great cleaning, now my house is perfect and confortable! I didn't have time up until now, because I losed with the desire of doing the things I wanted, but recently I didn't have (other things I wanted to do), so I was in a mood “I have to prepare myself properly”. After the Dome concert I bought new furniture too, maybe I'll create the clothing room I still don't have created.

KOKI

About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
I'm good until a certain degree. I can speak English in everyday dialogues or until a “not difficult” level. I don't hate to study, but my English scores at school were bad (laugh). You don't use the English you learned at school, right? Because they force you to learn a bothersome way of speaking. When speaking a foreign language, the learning is the most important thing. Since I know lots of people that speak English because they've mixed blood or lived overseas, I learned a natural way to speak and a natural English pronunciation too.

What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
I'd be ok to high up my English level, but I would be glad to be able to speak Spanish or Portuguese! When I see a Brasilian speaking in Portuguese I think “He's so cool!”. Latin people, both women and men, are sexy. The most beautiful women on Earth are the Latin-related ones. Italian people are sexy too, I've got the sensation it would be incredible to girl-hunt them (laugh). I think people from around the Portugual area are sexy in a good meaning. I'm often mistaken for a Brasilian man too (laugh).

The last Korean words you learned
“Pangaochakki, popojuseyo”. “Chakki” is similar to “honey”, “Nice to meet you honey, kiss me” (laugh). Wouldn't it be interesting to be able to use it during a conversation or during a live? But I don't know if I would be able to say something more (laugh). The useful word we all learned is “Chugo”. It means “the best” (saikou), can be used anywhere. When eating something good, more than saying “mashissoyo” (delicious), it's better to say “chugo!” to make the other happy.

The interesting Korean thing that Tanaka suggests
Speaking about food, wherever we went, there was a kimchee feeling, a “we're in Korea” feeling, so I think a massage would be ok. When we went to Korea, we went all 5 together, it was so relaxing. There was sports massages and aroma massages, so we played janken and we went were we pleased, but the ones that appear more active, that is me and Ueda, went to take aroma massage (laugh). Kame gives the feeling that he's doing sports recently and it's ok, but the point is that it's interesting that people which doesn't play sports take the sport massages (laugh).

Recently
Rai, a dog, came to my house 1 month ago. It seems that there was a voice that Rai was a dachshund, but he's a pincher. There's Sakura too. Recently my life really revolves around my dogs. I buy clothes, I like to dress them when we go outside. This one is still small, he's so cute! I bought yukatas too, now I have to bring them to see the fireworks!

MARU

About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
I don't think I'm weak, but I want be good! (laugh) You know, I want to think that since are words, everyone can learn languages. Moreover, I want to think that I'm managing in doing it (laugh). My English scores in middle school weren't good, like I couldn't remember it well. I was said from the teacher to do it, but I wasn't able to understand all the meaning of the things I was studying. It wasn't a matter of “love or hate”, simply I was studying. Since now I've got a goal, the attitude toward the study changed. I've become positive toward the studies. The contents of University English lessons fortunately are different from the ones of middle school, now are very interesting. Now lessons are finished, but because I don't want to lose the study of English, I'll continue.

What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
First of all, English. If you can speak English, you can speak with a fair amount of people. After all, if I can be able to convey what I think, even the journeys overseas would be easier, because if you can't convey your thoughts you will feel stress.

The last Korean words you learned
“Onurunzegashilukeyo”, “Today I'll pay”. Since Korean and Japanese have the same grammar, it's easy to study it, even if I simply don't understand hangul (laugh). But even if I study the way of writing, if I don't understand the pronunciation and the meaning I can't use it, so I'm studying especially the speaking. I want to be able to speak more before the Korean concert. Everyone has studied the useful “anyon”. It's a word similar to a rough “hello”, used all the day. Knowing this, we can say hello. After all, the first step in a conversation is the greeting!

The interesting Korean thing that Nakamaru suggests
Of course the food. The samgetan I ate in Korea was delicious! It was absolutely different from the one I ate in Japan. They brought 1 chicken, but the weight a person alone can eat; isn't perfect for a lunch? I'm not good with spicy foods, but it didn't gave me problems. I thought that it would have to not be changed in Japan.

Recently:
3 weeks from now the lessons will end and will be summer, so now I'm on a mountain. (The interview was taken in July). But there are things worth to do. When you're busy, if you end all the things you have to do, you feel satisfied, right? I like when I can say “I did it! Now I'm free!”. In this term there were subjects that I absolutely didn't want to fail, but now I've got the confidence I'll pass them. Since I think I won't have assigments during summer holidays, I'll end everything before the Korean concert and I'll enjoy the summer holidays doing the tour.

[Note: saying that “now it's a mountain”, it means that he has to do his last efforts to end his school semester (that is, the last before reaching at the peak=holidays)]

UEDA

About the study of foreign languages, are you good or weak?
I don't think I'm particulary good, but... yeah, it depends by the situations. If I go to a foreign country, I think “I don't remember the language”, but when I return at home, I end up thinking “Japan is connected by Japanese”. I've completely forgot the English I learned when I went in England for “Romeo and Juliet”. Regarding Korean, more than study it, I feel I've somehow learned it. I don't have the will to study like the others, so maybe among the 5 I'm the one who won't speak (laugh).

What language would you be happy to be able to speak?
English. For example, when I write lyrics in English, I think that it would be good to speak normally English. The pronunciation is extremely difficult, you know. But I don't have the impulse to start to study. Probably if I'm not in an environment where I must speak English, I'm unable to learn it. I need to go to America or England, and be alone. It seems that if I'm with my friends I will surely speak Japanese with them. But... I don't want to be alone~ Surely I can study abroad only 1 day (laugh). Yeah, to study abroad is impossible! I'll study English during the everyday life in Japan!

The last Korean words you learned
“Popojuseyo”, “Kiss me”. When we went in Korea the staff around us said “it can be used everytime!”.We all learned it, maybe it's useful (laugh)? Then “Murujuseyo”, “Water, please”. When you go to Korea, if you learn those 2 sentences, you'll be ok, maybe (laugh).

The interesting Korean thing that Ueda suggests
Everyone suggested samgetan, I suggest yakiniku! In Korea there were lots of karubi. There's familiar cooking, the taste is similar to Japanese one, they're for Japanese people. Thinking about it, in the restaurant there wasn't oulong tea, so we drank another very good tea. When we'll go to Korea for the concert, I want to try Jasmine tea~

Recently
Now I'm doing the reharsal for KAT-TUN tour and the preparation for my solo (The interview was taken in July). Moreover, I'm writing songs, directing, and deciding the choreography. Because the people that worked in the first Mouse Peace entered in this one too, I thought to create a band that seems a mix-up between Mouse Peace and Five. I don't know what will turn out to be, with the old “buzz-buzz” feeling, and if the sense of unity I like will be show. I'll play 3 new songs. But the lyrics are not ready yet, and I don't have much time left (laugh). I'm thinking about lots of things, for example to do happily the things I can, and I want the audience that come to see me can return at home happy. I'm looking forward to seeing it too... If I can write the songs! (laugh)

[It's always a pleasure to read and translate Koki's random answers XD I LOL'ed so much! He wants to learn languages to play with women! You dirty boy! XD And when he said that sentence about Italian women! Koki, is that the image you have of us Italian girls? X°°D And Koki... you're a dog fanatic XD but I love you for this XD
Junno confuses me with his complex metaphors @_@
And Kame... aww ♥ I'd kiss you of course! XD]

ps: I don't know exactly where to put these interviews. Feel free to tell me where I should post them (or do it by yourself, but redirect to my LJ, thanks); just please, if you want to reshare them, tell me were and/or ask my permission (I'd like to know where they will end to be posted. You know, comments are love for translators! XD).
English is not my mother language, so I'm very sorry for the mistakes I have surely done. And since these translations help me to improve both my Japanese and English skills, but I'm a great procrastinator, if you've got other interviews you'd like to read, just ask and I'll try to translate them ^^
