The boy's teacher was handing out leaflets yesterday about the local Beaver (junior Scouts) group. While this isn't applicable for his class yet as the lowest age you can join is 6, he seemed excited by the idea so I thought I'd check if things had moved on since I was a young Brownie

Then again my family attended church anyway and I'd always gone to Sunday school etc, so it didn't seem strange. I was fairly religious as a child/teenager *rolls eyes*
I remember the only arguement in our household was when my brother wanted to join the boys brigaid or cadets instead of the scouts and my parents wouldn't let him because they disapproved of the military link/atmos.
I enjoyed Brownies,( as much as my social anxieties/solitary nature allowed). But didn't stay very long in Guides, as we had a really rubbish group who never did anything very exciting, plus by that point our family had stopped going to church, so there were less social links.
