updating
Kurt and I are now "going out". Rather sickeningly. I really like him, I like lying in bed with him, he seems to like it the same. Things are good. Moving a little quickly maybe, but good. It feels right. We spent the day together on Monday and saw Lord of War then went for a drive, then for a meal then for a few drinks at work (?!?!) then we came back to mine to uhm...sleep.
Then on Wednesday after work he came over and we stayed up until 11 (mostly) talking, then slept for a couple of hours and then stayed in bed until he had to go to work at six. It was really nice.
I've pretty much been asleep since then. Which brings me onto my other point...
Academic work is not going well. I have to start doing the work and attending or else I'm going to get nowhere fast. I'm going to pick up some photocopies of reading we have to do for Monday in an hour or so. I must must must do that. Must. And I must started attending and reading and working. I thought it was the city/uni/people that made me not like St Marys, now I'm starting to wonder if it was just me being difficult and not wanting to admit that I'm not really passionate about studying anymore...
Work also isn't going to great. Kurt, of course, is a brilliant reason to want to be there. So is Sylvia (a wonderful lovely girl)...but they've decided to cut everyones hours. We're only allowed 2 shifts a week. This is going to mean between £40-£50ish a week for me. I've been getting between £75 and £100. I've talked it over with a few people and I think I'm basically going to stick with it until Christmas and then when I come back after the new year I'll try and get another job. Kurt has said that he'll do me a reference (he's my supervisor so he can). Working in the students union also shows that I can handle really busy and stressful environments, one of the nights I regularly work at is open to the public as well and has won awards nationally, so that's pretty impressive. We'll see though. I guess one good thing about it is that I'll have more time to study (or at least I should do...)
What else what else... My parents are coming to see me and take me out for dinner on Monday. I'm just looking forward to seeing my dog! :D
Todays plans are to...
- have a shower and get dressed
- go and get my reading from my building
- go and buy a book that I have to read for next Friday (trying to forward plan...)
- do some washing
- go to work
- possibly persuade Kurt to come back with me...again.
My favourite days at the moment are Wednesdays. Wednesdays are Kate and Sheona days. This week I slept at Kate's on Tuesday night and we spent Wednesday in town and seeing Domino. I'm starting to take it for granted that I live so close to her and Sara now. But I really really do appreciate their friendships and being close to them just makes my life that much more perfect.
