I think if the legs are short, the arms should be a tad shorter. The arms look right with the longer legs.

i like the longer legs better.
with the stumpy legs, it feels like everything is too concentrated in the shoulder area or something.
i don't know. it's hard to explain. it just messes up the balance i think.
for the shoulders, consider making them less round, more angular?
good luck getting into your exhibition!

imho, knowing nothing about art, he looks like he's on stilts with the long legs. and try maybe making the shoulders less broad. i think that'll help even him out. right now, he looks like a linebacker hedgehog, which is fine if that's what you want. :) i just think he'd be cuter if he were less bulky.

its weird, because humans have a 3:1 shoulder-to-head ratio. So these are even narrower than they should be but they still look really broad.

I like the longer legs, but maybe just a bit shorter than the sketched long ones... It depends on the look you are going for though. They are both cute! as for the shoulders, stand in front of a mirror and look at your own. Shoulders are really just rounded off 90-degree angles, in essence.

I think make the legs a LITTLE longer, but not as much as the second one. It's more animal like.
