Title: Roles
Rating: PG
Summary: One second you're telling him he’s the best leader you've all got now and the next you’re watching him stick his hands on his hips and stare at you, annoyed and…huffy. There really isn’t any other word for it.

The shift happens fast, really fast. One second you're telling him he’s the best leader you've all got now and the next you’re watching him stick his hands on his hips and stare at you, annoyed and…huffy. There really isn’t any other word for it.
Jack used to do that. A lot.
You wonder if Sawyer even knows he’s doing it, or if it’s a reflex, just one of those things that comes with the job. You wonder what he would say if you told him he looked just like Jack right now. You wonder if either of them knows alike they really are.
He tells you he doesn’t want to be the leader. You tell him Jack didn’t either. And then he gets this look on his face, like something finally clicked in his brain and he stops complaining, stops talking, just looks around at all the people on the beach, then back at you.
If he didn’t know before, well, he sure as heck does now.
