Kate breathes in and out a few times and looks around. This room, this place, filled with people who time had come to make her realize had been the most important people she had ever known. They had found their way here, they understood. They were ready. She felt the last bits of her old self fade away in the way that only reaching the end can do.

It is from across the room that she sees Sun bathed in the yellow glow, and it brings a smile to her face. She is just as young and vibrant and beautiful now as she always was. Ji Yeon grew up to have the same smile, the same face, the same kindness. The thought should make her sad, but it doesn't. Sun and Jin lived on through their daughter, and that thought brings Kate joy and peace.

She approaches Sun slowly, hands clasped together in front of her. She doesn't know what she'll say, or what there is to be said, but she goes to her anyway, this woman that she had once been so close to, but that time and circumstance had kept her apart from until the very end. She sees Jin leave her side, and Sun smiles after him. Then she turns to face Kate. Her smile widens. It's been so long, Kate thinks. But that doesn't matter now. They're here. They're all here.

"Hello, Kate," Sun says.

She smiles and pulls Sun into her arms. Closing her eyes, she says, "I thought about you all the time." Sun's arms encircle her, gripping her tightly. And she had. She'd thought about both Sun and Jin every time she had looked at their daughter, and at the most random of moments; in the supermarket, brushing her teeth before bed...they had all been on her mind, all those that she had loved and lost. And here they all were.

"It's so good to see you again," Sun tells her, with warmth and love. Over time, Kate had come to believe she deserved to be loved, that she could make space in her life for it regardless of her fear and her insecurity. She grew to accept it into her life, and she is full of it now.

"I missed you," Kate answers. And she had. So much.

"You don't have to anymore," she replies, with a smile in her voice.

Kate smiles too, closing her eyes and breathing in deep. No, she thinks, I don't. She opens her eyes and Jack is the first person she sees when she does. She bites her bottom lip and nods her head. I don't have to miss anyone anymore.
