While I can't speak to these girly books (yuk!), the surly and elitist 12 year old in me enjoyed this Goosebumps blog. I read every single one my sister had and hated them all with a passion.

I agree with absolutely everything you wrote here (though, of course, I agree with absolutely everything you ever say, ever). Especially about the bit where they're older than me. Even Jessi and Mallory seem older than me. And they are 11. (Which is weird, by the way-- I tried to babysit when I was 11, and parents were like, "Um, no. You are a child.")

Lucy, I can't wait to show you the Sweet Valley High totebag I just got. It is a-mazing. And SVH always means Sweet Valley to me, obviously, just as SVU has never meant "Special Victims Unity," but has always meant "Sweet Valley University," which is a paragon of higher education.

dude, I was all over whatclaudiawore when I spotted it the other day, & I third everything you said & Leila agreed with. well, I was never much into SVH, but BSC? YES. Claudia had an unhealthy influence on my early fashion choices, to the point that I once requested (requested!) that my parents photograph me wearing an outfit that involved one magenta sock & one teal sock, with opposite-color laces on either shoe (among other accompanying sartorial disasters). SMS FTW! :)
