Hate black screens soooo much!!

So, I have finally got around to install FF7 on my laptop. Now I only have to get it to work -.-U

Starting Peds tomorrow. I will miss internal medicine soooooo much =(

Um, would now be a bad time to say I know how to get it on a computer for free? Also, I might be able to help with your current issues, or my tech-nerd brothers could. If you could explain what's going on, I'll see what I can do to help!

Oh, that's very sweet of you, Thank you soooo much for the offer!!! *EPIC FF7 HUGS*
The problem seems to be that the PC version of the game is for a Windows '98 or below OS. It was installed succesfully, but everytime I insert the Game disc, it takes me to the New game-continue screen, I can only move between the options, but won't let me select one!! It just stays in black screen and I've got to use the system symbol to get out of it. And then, of course, it keeps messing up my screen resolutino settings >=(
I think some kind of crack is needed to make the game work in a recent OS. If you got any information on how to use one, it will be very much appreciated, thought I won't be able to look at in till Wednesday at the earliest, since I'm on call tomorrow.

Okay, I just spoke to my nerd brother for his input and be said the only fix he knew of would be to install a copy of Windows '98 inside of your current OS, which you can only do if you happen to have a copy of '98 lying around.

Alternatively, I can help you play the PS version on your computer for about the same level of (il)legalness. If you're interested, let me know and I can see about getting you the right files.
