"Bless Me, Ultima" is not political. It's spiritual. And there's a lot of happiness in it. And poverty is not a main focus in the book. But then, you already know that. :)

And "Shakespeare in Love" is wonderful. It definately does not fit into typical Hollywood romances. I wouldn't much care for it if it did. It's wonderfully written and beautifully acted and so, so sad. (I don't really life most romantic comedies. I think they do tend to be formulaic.) But "Love, Actually" and "Shakespeare in Love" are great movies.

So there. ;)

Just an interesting side note, but you said that "Poverty will always be with us" and it reminds me of something that Jesus said that is often taken out of context ( ... )
