Apologies

It  has been pointed out recently that my style of discussion becomes a bit counterproductive to engaging dialogue.

Firstly, led me sincerely apologize to anyone who  feels I have shut down their arguments in discussion, this has never been my intention.

Truth be told, if I were addressing a group of Islamic scholars who were genuinely inquiring (as opposed to already decided in some way) I don't think that I would really need a whole boatload of "evidence." The Qur'an is very clear about the essential equality and dignity of both women and men. The Qur'an is extremely clear that we are to protect all of those (both men and women) who need protection, and no one is to stand in the way of anyone's knowledge of or service to God ( ... )

I certainly hope not and I certainly wasn't implying that.

I still think you're sort of approaching the question wrong.OK so my phrasing is off. Bottom line is that I want to know specifically what issues Muslim women want to address in Muslim social circles for a more gender-equity stance ( ... )

Well, actually, "caring about an agenda more than about the people involved" does not make an organization radical. And I don't think either of us, or anyone reading this, confuses a political organization with a way of life. I would certainly hope that we could disagree on our views of the former without questioning each other's committment to the latter.
