WHOOP WHOOP CROSSPOSTED FROM MY JOURNAL, but this comm needs more gayness to it, and it fit one of the challenges, so ;3;

Title: A Gameshow Love Connection
Challenge: AU, Fifty sentences, pretty much?

1. Comfort- Makoto was used to all sorts of reactions about her home life; however, the silent, yet earnest, pat on the head she received from Yusuke after she had told him felt the most geniune of all.

2. Kiss- She would vehemently claim later on she had only been aiming for his cheek, but she couldn't deny the tingle that shot up her spine as their lips accidentally brushed.

3. Soft- Yusuke would say that he was only tugging her ponytail to heckle her, but he didn't want to admit he also did it to steal a feel of her silky curls.

4. Pain- He had experienced a plethora of different pains throughout his life, some more brutal than others; but he never thought seeing the cold look in her eye as she walked away from one of his jokes to hurt the most.

5. Potatoes- She had never even thought of powers being a problem in the kitchen; until one day, she came home to a spud massacre, all because Yusuke decided to "bake" them using his Spirit Gun.

6. Rain- Yusuke had never really liked stormy days; however, seeing the usually aloof and mature Makoto spinning and giggling giddily in the downpour like she was playing with an old friend, made him look forward to them more often.

7. Chocolate- She wondered why she was putting so much effort into her Valentine's gift for him; but the boyish grin he gave her as she offered him the sweet cocoa treats set a warmth in her heart that explained everything.

8. Happiness- She realized, when he leaned against her gently as they shared her home-made bento on the school roof, that sometimes even the simplest moments could bring unspeakable joy.

9. Telephone- "Was that even Japanese she was speaking?" Yusuke asked incredulously as Makoto finally wrestled her communicator away from Usagi.

10. Ears- Her squeak of surprise as he playfully nipped her ear turned into a squawk of annoyance as she realized the goof had somehow accidentally swallowed her rose earring.

11. Name- Makoto knew he hated honorifics with a passion and never used them, but she couldn't fight off the rosy hue in her cheeks when Yusuke called her "Mako" for the first time.

12. Sensual- As much as the amazonian school girl would say that fighting was not an attractive aspect of her personality, Yusuke couldn't help but beg to differ; seeing the way she moved, smooth, quick, and graceful, like liquid lightning, made him wonder if the boys she liked were too dull to realize how appealing she could be.

13. Death- He had remembered her telling him once that her life was merely a shield to protect the ones she loved; the saying pounded loudly inside his head as he watched her collapse from a blow that had been meant for him.

14. Sex- He could argue and complain as much as he wanted that he was the one wearing the pants in their relationship; but at the end of the day, when the apartment was quiet and empty, it was Makoto who pinned him to the wall to have her way with him.

15. Touch- The feel of his rough hands, calloused from countless fights, against her own soft palms, showed that their methods of getting rid of an enemy were not as similar as it seemed.

16. Weakness- Yusuke was as ridiculously strong as they came, but even he lacked the strength to budge the Thunder senshi when she made up her mind about something.

17. Tears- They both knew they had duties to fulfill, ones that would never be able to mesh together, and she promised to herself she wouldn't cry when it eventually happened; however, once the day came and they split ways, she felt a different sort of rain roll down her cheeks.

18. Speed- "Stop...stop!!" the pony-tailed girl screeched, tightening her grip around the delinquent's back as he laughed merrily; she couldn't believe Yusuke could even make bike riding a reckless activity.

19. Wind- "Don' worry," Jin said, leaning into whisper to Makoto while Yusuke was busy bothering Chuu, "Give th' lad a few weeks, and he'll b' sleepin' on yer chest like a baby!"

20. Freedom- It felt like a breath of fresh air spending time with him; for those few hours, she didn't have to worry about her destiny or hiding who she was; he knew it and paid no mind to it, and it was surprising how that little action made her feel more like a normal girl than she had in years.

21. Life- Destiny was not a concept Yusuke put much faith in, all things that had happened in his past considered; therefore, he wasn't about to let it dictate the decisions Makoto had to make for the future.

22. Jealous- Keiko was petite, delicate, and smart, three things the taller girl was definitely not; knowing the fact that Yusuke had loved her once before did nothing to ease her insecurities.

23. Hands- Even though his reflexes were top notch most of the time, Yusuke still managed to have the occasional slip-up while he helped Makoto chop vegetables for dinner; he never thought he'd look forward to slicing his finger until she "fixed" them by kissing them better.

24. Taste- As a chef-in-training, Makoto's tongue was trained to detect the finer flavors in things, and what generally tasted the best; however, she could not find anything that nearly compared to the savory taste of his kisses.

25. Devotion- In the end, he knew her loyalties to her Princess overshadowed everything; still, he couldn't help feeling a little jealous of the odango'd girl because of it.

26. Forever- The lifespan of a senshi was infinitely long, and a demon's just as lengthy; even if they both had to wait centuries to see one another once again, the thought that the other was still around was still a form of comfort.

27. Blood- Chivalry was not one of Yusuke's strong points; he figured as long as a girl was up and able to fight, there was no harm in going against them; so even he was shocked at the fury that coursed through him when he spotted Makoto with a broken lip from a fight with another thug.

28. Sickness- Kuwabara, after the fourth shocking time in a row, pointedly refused to take Yusuke's offer on shaking Makoto's hand when she was ill.

29. Melody- "It's fine," she said, smirking a little as she tightened her grip reassuringly on one hand, and guided his irritated and slightly embarrassed face towards hers with the other on the dance floor, "I'll take the lead for this song."

30. Star- He asked her once, when they were gazing at the night sky, which speck of light up there was hers to protect, to which she replied, with a smile, "All of them."

31. Home- His visits to her cozy apartment were frequent and sometimes unexpected, and when she finally questioned him about why he came over so often, he merely shrugged and said, "I just figured you needed company."

32. Confusion- Kurama could only stare in disbelief as Yusuke, very seriously, asked him for advice on taking care of sasanquas.

33. Fear- There didn't seem to be anything that could shake the cool, tough Makoto, so Yusuke was completely baffled when she ducked behind the curtains during a Japan Airlines commercial on TV.

34. Lightning/thunder- One of the many traits the two had in common were their hair-trigger tempers; hers was a quick burst, coming and going as fast as the bolts she wielded, while his was loud and lingering, and usually in response to hers; Rei duly noted later on, after one of the couple's spats, that Makoto has indeed found the thunder to her lightning.

35. Bonds- As much as he wanted her to live a normal life with him, he knew it wouldn't be fair to press; separating her from her band of sisters would be like separating himself from his teammates, and he never wanted to hurt her like that.

36. Market- Grocery shopping was usually a relaxing and indulgent time for Makoto, as she could plot and brainstorm new meals thanks to the variety of foods around; however, thanks to a certain brown-eyed, raven-haired menace, she spent the majority of her trip chasing him down the aisles to retrieve her hijacked shopping cart from him.

37. Technology- "I swear, I think Ami does it on purpose," Yusuke grumbled, as Makoto sheepishly broke from their kiss and started hunting for her ceaselessly beeping compact.

38. Gift- She was used to not receiving anything for White Day, as most of her Valentine's recipients ended up being toads in Prince's skin; so she was pleasantly surprised that day when she found a bag of Kisses in her shoe locker, with a hastily written note that simply said "For last month, Y".

39. Smile- It was bizarre; he could be loud, reckless, and a general pain in the ass, but seeing that huge, goofy grin on his face never failed to get her smiling as well.

40. Innocence- Blaming the friend's cat for knocking down Makoto's plants, Yusuke discovered, was not such a good idea when said cat started lecturing him afterwards.

41. Completion- Everyone seemed to be eager for the completion of the Crystal Palace; Makoto, however, knew it meant a countdown of the days she had left to be with him.

42. Clouds- Some people had stormy tempers, and Yusuke was no exception; however, he never thought the term would be quite that literal, until he saw the sky darken and the lightning crackle when Makoto's gaze fixed angrily upon him.

43. Sky- Her fear of flying was a hindrance, for sure, but after having a trip on Puu, she had to admit that riding a giant phoenix-like creature provided a better view than an airplane ever could.

44. Heaven- Despite visiting the afterlife a couple of times, Yusuke never really had a clear idea of heaven; but after waking up curled in the soft, warm embrace of the leggy brunette, he had a few ideas of what it could be like.

45. Hell- "NO!" she screamed, fighting against the hold of her senshi sisters; even if he was a demon, even if he wasn't in the right state of mind at the moment, she wasn't going to let them destroy him.

46. Sun- As Ami reminded her of Mercury and Rei of Mars, Makoto couldn't help but think of Yusuke like the sun; he was stubborn, fiery, and tough, but somehow, he drew people into his orbit, including herself.

47. Moon- There was something unearthly about her as she basked under the pale, silvery light, her auburn curls glowing, and her large eyes shining like magic; Yusuke was almost afraid to break her out of her trance, as if his touch would make her vanish like the moonbeams that illuminated her.

48. Waves- It became common knowledge to both teams, senshi and detective alike, to never try to interfere when Makoto and Yusuke were in the middle of a water fight on the beach, lest they wanted to return home drenched from the over-powered duo's attempts to one up another.

49. Hair- "For crying out loud," Makoto griped, pounding on her bathroom door for what seemed to be the millionth time, "I swear, Yusuke, you spend more time on your hair than I do, and I'm a girl!"

50. Supernova- When the two were reunited, centuries upon centuries since she had left him at the Crystal Palace doors, it was like nothing had changed; his strong arms wrapped around her and his familiar laugh were still the same, and for the first time in what had felt like an eternity, the great loneliness that had dwelled inside her heart seemed to break apart and scatter, as if ignited by the warmth of his return.
