first day of summer

Summer officially started today, and I realized I hadn't been swimming in the ocean in the entire eight months I've been living in California. I had to fix that, so I stripped down to a pair of shorts and waded out into the sea. I didn't go out too deep, but it was fun experimenting with different techniques to jump into a wave and try to ride

Well, Ethiopia was not characterized by famine until very recently (historically speaking) so the cuisine was probably not developed under those conditions. It was one of the oldest and most advanced nations in Africa for a long time. The famine in the 80's was such a big media event that we all think of it as "that famine country" though.
