He looks over to Flare with a smirk.]Just remember, Flare. Bring them ( Read more... )

Heh, thanks.

[He smirks. Meanwhile, Flare's shaking his head in the background. Did he really have to make this a publicity stunt?]

... Wow.

[She's not looking her best, she looks a little tired from her earlier revelation, but she's pulled herself together anyway.]

That was a pretty one sided battle. Your Pokemon must be pretty high level, or is the type advantage just really that big? [Asking as someone that's seen it go both ways between water and fire.]

He's level 97, but there was a type advantage.

[So, basically, it's the best of both worlds. Flare was ridiculously overleveled.]

[Katara looks adequately impressed.]

WOW. [Total domination.] They really get that strong? Well, congratulations on the gym win. [A short beat, and then she looks curious, tilting her head slightly to one side.]

The names sound kind of similar, so I'm guessing Charmander is related to Charizard? Do you mind if I ask? I haven't seen one yet. What type is Totodile?

Heh, thanks.

[Give him a second, and then... here, he'll send out his Feraligatr.]

Charmander evolves into Charizard, and Totodiles evolve into one of these.

[Unfortunately, Jaws looks pretty derpy, despite his fierce exterior. He's just sorta... scratching his head. Did Master make another friend? He grunts.]

They're water types. Pretty powerful once you train them.

Waaah... That must've been a serious downer for Bugsy.

What's the problem with Violet, though? It seems like a nice little city.

He's probably used to it, though. How else would people get badges?

[Riku shrugs.]

My problem's that being there for months left a bad taste in my mouth.

Um... What level are your Pokemon at? I'm a little curious...

I suppose being in a town for that long can do that to you!

Most of them are at or around level 100 now. Got a few around level 50, and the rest are still pretty new.

[ HOLY WOW ]

You did real good, Ree-coo! Now I'm all fired up for my first Gym battle!

Fired up, huh?

[Pun intended or not, it's still pretty amusing.]

Well, Falkner's not too tough, if you know what to do.

[ Applejack giggles at the pun. ] That's right! But it's okay--I don't need any tricks. Me an' Winona are gonna fight him together!

A bit overkill.

What, you expected me to go easy on him?

[He shakes his head. It made things quick, plus it was a good chance for Flare to fight something higher than level 15.]

[ A moment's pause. ] Of course not. But there was no need to embarrass him, either.

Fire's most effective against steel, and Flare's level 97. Even if I used ember, it would've been the same. Why draw it out when I can make it easier for both of us?
