She wiggled her toes on the table, smiling as she closed the bottle of nail polish, and blew at her now pink toenails. She had her hair tied back and wore a comfy pink camisole and some blue-jean denim shorts, and had her TV on food Network, a random teen magazine on her table by her feet. It was nice to relax like this, after everything that ( Read more... )

Lightning was quite agitated while he was standing outside of Ophelia's door. Before Ophelia answered the door, he was talking underneath his breath, to nobody in particular, and occasionally muttered "stupid brother" a few times. When the door finally opened and heard her, he put his attention back to where he was.

And at first, he didn't say anything. He said hello, at least. Then there was nothing. There was no right way to tell her, "I blew up a wall in my house, so I cannot stay there with my brother angry with me."

So instead, the only words he said were, "I sort of, ah, need a place to stay."

....what.

She sort of stared at him for awhile, her face flushed, having nothing to say. She couldn't say no, after all, he was the guy she wanted to date her friend; but.. wow, this was very sudden.

"Uhm. Kay." She stepped out of the way to let him in, and just kind of scratched her head, wondering if this was the smart thing to do. Because it's not everyday the cute guy you liked for awhile popped over and asked to stay in your tiny one bedroom house.

He looked a little surprised that she even said 'okay' to it. He glanced around, and then let himself in after she stepped out of the way. Being the person that he is, Lightning doesn't hesitate to make himself at home and taking a seat.

And once he got comfortable, well, let's just hope that Ophelia has her listening ears. "I got annoyed with my brother," he said, fixing his wrist guards. "I made one accident with one of the walls in our house, and he kept nagging at me!"

One bedroom. One bedroom, Ophelia. She kept telling herself that until she snapped back to reality when she heard him, shaking her head a bit. "O-oh.... you guys are still fighting?"

Wait, what. "What happened to the wall?" She knew this was probably a bad question right after she asked it.

Ophelia just stares at him as he approaches, and blindly opens her bedroom door. "Uh... w-wow... I, er... wasn't expecting you to be so.. er... enthusiastic." She has a tiny smile on her face as she walks in, doing everything in her power not to spazz, because holy crap, a boy will be in her bed.

"Why would I not be--?"

He pauses as soon as he walks in and sees the bed. Which belongs to a girl. A girl he's interested in. A girl he's kissed before. A girl he's ooooh, crap, what did he just agree to do? He was going to share a bed with a girl.

Now he's doing everything in his power not to freak out or spazz.

She makes her way over to the bed and sits down, but before getting in, she stops to look at him.

"Err... is something.. wrong?"

She frowns a little, hoping he won't change his mind.

Oh, jeez. Now she's sitting ON the bed -- I mean. He shakes his head, and says, "No, no! Nothing is wrong! Just... nice room," he says, putting on the most confident look on his face that he can manage in a situation like this. Yeah, nothing to be afraid of. They're just going to share a bed and go to sleep. Sleep. ... Sleeping together. ... He's going to sleep with her.

Lightning kiiinda wants to slap himself right now.

When she opened her eyes, she had expected to see Lightning there next to her; however, all that was there with her were some messed up blankets and pillows. So she climbed out of bed, and walked out of the bedroom. Had she.. dreamed sleeping with him?

....when she saw the kitchen, she had to rub her eyes to make sure it wasn't a nightmare. "Wh..wha... WHAT'S GOING ON?!"

It wasn't a nightmare. It was a cold, hard reality. There were pans all over, cans and boxes taken out of shelves and cabinets where they belonged, and there were utensils all over the floor. And, amongst the mess, there was Lightning. Lightning had his back turned to her, and he said, "I cannot find anything to eat! It is hard to find something around here--" Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Basically, he's bitching again. And being very rude, mind you.

She looks at everything in horror, bringing her hands to her head, fingers in her hair; this would take hours to clean.

Scowling at him, she stomps over, shoves him out of the way, and opens a cabinet, handing him some pop-tarts. "THERE. Now if you didn't destroy the toaster like you did the REST of my kitchen, you can have some breakfast," she growls. With that, she starts mumbling things in Spanish and starts to clean up. She does, however, let one thing slip in English: "..why should I clean his mess?.."

Ophelia had the NERVE to shove HIM out of the way like that?! He looks over the box as he angrily comments to whatever he can catch in English, "What is the big deal?! It is not THAT big of a mess! You are overreacting!" Oh, Jesus, at this point, he's just asking for it.

It hit Lightning right in the face, and the flour exploded right on him. So by the time the bag fell to the ground and the powder was all over, there stood a Lightning white from head to toe. He rubbed at his eyes and look utterly disgusted. After all, he was wet before the flour hit him. Now he was very sticky.

After coughing off a powder cloud, he glared at her. Lightning wasn't planning on fighting with food anymore. He didn't want to get more gross looking than he already was.

... Wait. Ophelia was wet, wasn't she? Lightning wasn't planning on hurting her. But he did have an evil idea.

"You have had static shocks before, right?" he asked. He raised his fingers up, and small sparks came from them. "I have plenty of them." Ophelia better be prepared. This boy doesn't need to rub his feet on a carpet to get the same effect!

She was giggling like crazy when he was covered in flour, but it stopped as soon as he got that evil look on his face.

She backed away slowly, eyes wide. "Y-you wouldn't!!" she stuttered.

And she had to stop herself from smirking when she had an idea. She poked out her bottom lip, pouting just slightly, and sniffled. "B-but.. I thought we were just playing!" she said, using her 'i am but a helpless little girl' voice.

Uh oh. He sensed tears coming on! That made him stop immediately. Also, he had to correct her, while putting his guard down. "Playing?! I thought you were angry with me!" he said. This might be a perfect time for Ophelia to strike again.

"O..oh. That's right," she sniffled; she wiped her eyes, grinning now. "I was!"

With that, the faucet popped off the sink, and a steady stream of water was aiming straight for Lightning. "WHAT was that about shocking me?!" she asked with a laugh. She cut off the flow of the water after he was good and drenched again; after all, she wasn't really aiming to hurt him, and she didn't know exactly how much water he could take. Ophelia smirked, crossing her arms. "Might want to think about who you're threatening next time," she winked. "But hey, at least you're not covered in flour anymore."

It had taken a good 2 hours or more to clean the kitchen, and neither of them had ate, so afterwards, Ophelia made some sandwhiches and grabbed two slices of cake for them.

She led Lightning outside with a blanket though instead of to the couch and table, and they ate outside. One good thing about the Nexus? She managed to find a spot where it was always warm!

After they finished the meal, she laid back on the blanket and closed her eyes, stretching out. I guess this is going to be a good day after all, she thought. "So!" Ophelia chriped, "was the food good?"

Lightning was glad to get some food in his stomach after cleaning up that entire mess. Who knew that their argument would lead them to screwing up the kitchen that way. And it wasn't easy to get all of that stuff off of him to begin with.

When they were sitting outside, and when she asked that question, he didn't really answer at first. He was paying too much attention to the sky. He did answer after a moment, though! "It was," he said. He tilted his head as he observed something, and said, "That cloud looks like a pig."

She found the silence akward, but was relieved when he answered her, smiling brightly. She then looked up at the sky where he was looking. She tilted her head a bit, trying to get a better view. "I don't... oh. Yeah, it kind of does. Especially with the curly tail," she laughed. She scanned the sky a bit more before her eyes closed again; she wasn't tired, she was just relaxing.

He spent some more time looking at the sky, and then he gave a shrug. He looked over at her, and said, "So, you are not really mad at me?" It was still bothering him. Why did it bother him this much? It could have to do with the fact that this was a girl he had been crushing on for the past few months, and zapping girls you like wasn't a good idea. Or maybe the fact that karma was out to bite him in the ass and guilt him had something to do with it.
