Get older is rough, and everything including making friends and finding time seems to take exponentially more effort.
With the change back to nights you might have your physician check you vitamin D levels, since you're likely not getting
outdoors much. It's not a replacement for antidepressants but if its off it definitely doesn't help. Have fun in Canadia and UK.

I'd second the D recomendation, you want a blood level of around 50. I'd lean toward taking 4000 iu first thing in the morning (timing matters, this will help with sleep), before bothering with a doctor, unless you are getting a good chunk of daily sun, you are probably not getting enough.

For me, 3 big trader joe's fish oil pills (thus getting 1500mg of efa/dha etc) daily has been critical, I've been doing it for 15 years, helps a lot, with depression, and shown to be good for a lot of other stuff too. Also, reduce your omega 6 consumption, that's mostly stuff like soybean oil, and other seed oils (though that is the worst).

I am so glad you are able to get a longer visit in Toronto! And a great time of year to go too. Glad you are doing the 40 trip too. I definitely enjoyed mine more than I would have enjoyed a party. I keep thinking I want to take irish dancing but I am so totally overwhelmed with work and other responsibilities. I am telling myself that when the kids are older I will make time for dance lessons. Much love to you.
