It is sad that we're continually sacrificing the environment for money's sake. It just seems like there should be a happy medium somehow.

I suspect we are now even beyond the “happy medium” stage. Animal extinction rates are coming in now at alarming rates and human population continues to climb with all it’s devastating impacts on resources and the environment. Too many people never leave their cities and don’t feel the link with nature and how important that link is to our continued survival. Apart from anything else, I think the world will just be a much less interesting place once we have lost much of our biodiversity. Sad indeed :(
