The 'new' BBC tv series Being Human really bugged me. So I wrote a creative and constructive review, with only minor negativity. Yip!
This show was introduced to us at San Diego Comic Con 2009, via BBC America premier, so we got a hold of it.
The other day (Tuesday) we had a chance to watch the Pilot. Started with a slower pace but it built drama and mood. By the end, I was highly entertained and very excited about this series.
Guy Flanagan as Mitchell, Andrea Riseborough as Annie and Russell Tovey as George were awesome! And with minor character talents.
Guy's portrayal distance and cool yet intellectual and sensitive was perfect for the role. Being taller than most, made a presence.
Andrea pulls you in emotionally. She plays vulnerable, likable and fits the very normal girl role. She looked the part of an artist.
Russell playing the straight guy, well would be very normal except the curse, and is able to get you to sympathize with the character. He brings a lot of elements to the role.
With Adrian Lester, a Shakespearean actor with high potential, as Herrick.
And Dominique McElligott as Lauren in anticipation for the "newly turned bad girl hottie."
We watched the official 1st episode today (Wednesday). Hmm. The recasting of major and minor characters lack.
I will say how disappointed I am that the Cast, and by extension the written interactions, were changed.
Yes, yes, yes. The Russell Tovey is talented and Aidan Turner holds the weight of the acting for 1st episode.
I am still going to watch the remaining episodes but I am sad to realize that the cooler Cast will not grace this series further. Yip!
