Ah, it's almost the seventh, isn't it? ... That means that by this time back home, we'd be having Tanabata festivals already.

[ Her voice sounds just as usual - pretty casual - deadpan, even. But suddenly there's a hint of something else in it too, perhaps slight bitterness if you listen closely enough and look through the first layer of deadpan ( Read more... )

[video] ALL THE PINGS EVER... dreamgranter July 7 2011, 01:28:33 UTC
In this world or in all others, nothing ever comes for free. Without sacrifice, nothing can be accomplished.

However... [A brief pause, followed by a knowing smile.] No dream will come true if people don't wish for it, either.

No matter how much you wish for something, it won't just happen. Just dreaming won't get anyone anywhere.

So even if you wish for something on Tanabata.. It's not like it will suddenly come true.

[video] Uhuh, sure you didn't. 8| dreamgranter July 7 2011, 20:32:23 UTC
[Normally, Yuuko would only say that only applies to one kind of wish - to bring back the dead. But even that is "possible" in Fortuna, and that is enough to throw her out of the loop. So for now, she won't say anything on that.]

Not suddenly, no. For a wish to come true, it takes effort, determination and sincerity of heart. But wishing is an important part of the trade in itself.

[ That actually was Ange's wish. And obviously it wasn't fulfilled. Hence why she's so bitter. ]

... I.. made a wish, a long time ago. And I got the opportunity to fulfill it, but.. she was just playing a trick on me all this time.

I don't think it's particularly celebrated in this place either, considering most people aren't even Japanese here.

... Guess I'm glad to see someone agree for once, though. That kind of idealism won't help anyone.

... I've found that sometimes someone listens. But even if they offer help, it's just a trap to amuse themselves a little with you. It's not worth it.

Tanabata... I believe such traditions are important.

I don't think it's necessary to keep up traditions in this place as long as they carry no meaning. We have more important things to do.

Don't you agree we have more important things to do here than celebrate such an useless holiday?

flowwithdestiny July 9 2011, 19:45:44 UTC
Perhaps. But then why have holidays at all?

Don't ask me, I'm not the one who came up with the idea.
