hmm...i think i just realized that i'm running in the wrong race. or something like that. i just looked up and noticed that all i can see are the backs of everyone else's heads. and my illusions were dashed...i suddenly realized that i'm NOT the popular favorite (like i thought), but i'm actually the underdog. so why even give my best until the end

ya know, the funny thing is that all the guys in my unit are trying to hang on so tightly to those last few moments before they leave...and i, on the other hand, can't wait to get away from this place. sometimes i wonder if maybe it's not my destiny to step on a landmine or something over there. guess we'll find out, huh? lol.
