I have, after only four decades of procrastination, started learning to play the guitar. I can currently play a somewhat adequate E chord, and a really crappy, buzzing, unreliable A. Thank you, Master Obi-Wan. I'm doing this as part of an informal beginner's class at my office, and I believe we're due to learn B7 on Monday. Groupies and a drug habit, here I come!

Oh the Pain! It helps to soak the fingertips in alcohol (rubbing, no really) for a couple minutes after playing. You can also build the calluses faster by using an emory board on the fingertips for a few minutes a day, after the pain subsides of course. But ultimately; no pain, no gain ;) Never too late.
