I know it's not a scientific poll (and yay for CBC for pointing that out!), but still, I find it reassuring that so far, only 1% of the people responding to the poll at the bottom of this page subscribe to the gambler's fallacy.

I was actually going to choose that option, but then I realised that since someone else voided a ticket that won, and the chances of that happening are super low, it's now super unlikely to happen to me, so it doesn't matter what I would do.

That's hardly a sound conclusion. I think it is more likely that most people who do subscribe to the gambler's fallacy voted for option (a).
