I look forward all week to SciFi Friday, more than ever these days, and this week's batch of shows did not disappoint. I am enjoying SG-1 so much, SGA makes me insanely happy for so many reasons (though many of them are named Shep), and BSG -- damn, I'm just along for the ride even if I have to hang on to the side-rails for dear life every week.

Rodney is now officially Shiva, Destroyer of Worlds.

Bwahaha!! That is so wrong. Because now I'm picturing him in the classic pose.

But if Rodney is Shiva then who are Brahma and Vishnu? And does that make John his consort, Uma, the goddess of beauty?

I am so wrong.

But hey, they started it by calling it Trinity!

I actually sat here going, Hmm, how many times has Daniel died and come back by now, and would that fit with Vishnu? Then I started reading up on Uma in the wikipedia and my brain took a dive off the platform of wrongness.

Really, really excellent points about Helo, and why it was so interesting to see him interacting with the larger cast. That said, I don't think he's going to have an easy ride once they get back to Galactica. Unless he repudiates Sharon, which he's highly unlikely to do, a lot of people are likely to think he's a Cylon collaborator, or at least a sympathizer ( ... )

I really enjoyed these comments, and I'm glad to hear you're also closely following this storyline. Because when everything inevitably goes to pot, like it has for everyone else this season, at least I know someone will be suffering along with me. This is a great show ( ... )

10,000 geeks in the SGC and no one ever watched Dragonball Z? -- lol, such a good point! And about the Jaffa on the planet and the ship, and I love this: as is being illustrated so well this season, consequences won't be mitigated by un-intention.

but that planet doesn't have enough mass -- That bothered me too, along with vague thoughts about the nuclear reactions going on in a star and other things that aren't going on in planets that maybe contribute to black-hole formation and maybe that shield didn't have enough oomph to approximate. I was like, 'I should look this up,' and then didn't.

and just how do you propose to reconstitute that stream -- lol, yes yes yes. I think maybe a handwave and a sigh is the only response.

::sighs::

Teal'c's expression! LOL!

Also, yay, a DBZ fan! (Or at least a casual viewer.) Now that was a show that excelled at credible hand-waving. :)

I was so glad you posted about some of the same concerns, particularly about those forgotten Jaffa. Actually, in my haste to tell you that, I forgot that I wanted to comment on other things. Like: "One way to stop the Ori incursion would be to destroy the entire Stargate system." This made me say, nooo!!! I think it's a testament to this show that, should it ever come to that, we would see it for the profound punishment-sacrifice it would be. Can you imagine? It really would be the ultimate punishment for the ultimate unintentional screw-up, and would make a horrible sort of sense because of the scope and nature of the Ori.

(Occasionally I think, what the hell are the Atlantis people still doing screwing around in the Pegasus galaxy? Wraith, schmaith! The Ori will make them obsolete anyway, so come back and help!)

lol, that is a great Teal'c expression. jr_moon makes delightful icons.

We were definitely on a lot of the same wavelengths, posting about the ep. I have the same 'noooo!' reaction to the idea of taking the whole Stargate system down -- which makes it a perfect option for the characters to consider for dramatic effect. It would be like a combination of the threat of losing the gate in various SG-1 episodes -- having the government shut the program down or having to give the gate up for a peace treaty with the system lords -- and the SGA people preparing to blow up Atlantis to keep the Wraith from Earth. Just considering it would be a terrible thing. I like it. *eg*

Hmmm, good point about the Atlantis people. And now you've got me wondering if at some point the Milky Way people will get desperate enough to consider a mass evacuation there themselves. (Thinking about impossible/unthinkable options is too fun.) Or at least start viewing Atlantis as a sort of mega alpha site ...
