The following was written in character for a DnD game.
The character in question was, quite naturaly, a dwarf.
And when placed on a ship, he sort of "merged" his people's traditional songs with the sailor's drinking songs.
The tune, of course, is "what do you do with a drunken sailor"
What do you do with a golden nugget?
What do you do with a golden nugget?
What do you do with a golden nugget?
What do you do with a golden nugget?
Deep within the mountain.
Chorus:
Up from the vein you mine it,
Up from the vein you mine it,
Up from the vein you mine it,
Deep within the mountain.
Bite it to make sure that it isn’t pyrite,
Bite it to make sure that it isn’t pyrite,
Bite it to make sure that it isn’t pyrite,
Deep within the mountain.
Chorus
Warm it in the forge till it’s good and molten,
Warm it in the forge till it’s good and molten,
Warm it in the forge till it’s good and molten,
Deep within the mountain.
Chorus
Put it in a mold to make a fancy jewel,
Put it in a mold to make a fancy jewel,
Put it in a mold to make a fancy jewel,
Deep within the mountain.
Chorus
Decorate the steel of a warrior’s platemail,
Decorate the steel of a warrior’s platemail,
Decorate the steel of a warrior’s platemail,
Deep within the mountain.
Chorus
Buy another round of the finest dwarf ale,
Buy another round of the finest dwarf ale,
Buy another round of the finest dwarf ale,
Deep within the mountain.
