Well, it started raining on 31 December 2020 and the rain only stopped in the afternoon of 3 January 2021. Flood warnings given, vehicles stranded, trees uprooted, etc. Which is a way of reminding us not to be complacent just because 2020 is behind us, I suppose.

I forgot I had an LJ account so I decided to post and then LJ told me there were posts I missed.. I am glad I checked your old entries because I got hooked on MDZS towards the end of 2019 and it helped me get through 2020. Thanks for sharing some of the stories you've been reading. While I have read some of them before, some of your fic recommendations will keep me occupied for a while.

Also I know you wrote it many months ago but I had to agree with some of your opinions re Xue Yang and JGY. I honestly haven't finished watching the CQL but reading the novel and watching the donghua I don't really understand the appeal of either character.

I miss the format that LJ provided (never created a DW account even after the LJ account deletion scandal). Twitter/other forms of social don't really cut it. Oh well. Perhaps I am just becoming a cranky old dinosaur now.

Thank you! I know the actors for them are cute (some say ^_^) but it doesn't detract that in the Untamed, they're vile. I think the novel fleshes out Xue Yang's sad background more (I skipped the translation) but even if it does, y'know, my added sympathy does not cancel out my dislike.

And Jin Guangyao is... I guess this is me being extremely judgmental, but he is just so... self-serving. And willing to blame anyone else but himself. He's a user, and again, my sympathy for his childhood trauma (such as it is) does not cancel out my disgust. I can't read any fic about him.
