hello :) I am around, lurking, reading and so on... just not posting much recently. Been using lj for more private posts recently, such has been the mood...but maybe I'll come out of my shell again. Thanks for commenting :)
"Well this life that I live, Has took me everywhere. There ain't no place I ain't never gone... But it's kinda like the sayin' That you heard so many times, 'Well there just ain't no place like home.'
...well, you can take a [girl] out of [Poland], Lord, But you'll never take ol' [Poland] from a [girl]!!"
Nice substitutions lol... That is damn right:) Where's it from?
You have to visit sometime. If it coincides with my visit I'd be happy to translate and "take you around" some places (I get lots lots because of my impaired directional sense and not being there for a long time, but at least I can ask directions easily ;)). Poland is renowned for its forests too. I have to go back to where my dad lives and take a walk/bike ride through the forest - was too cold this time and didnt have enough time. I fondly remember forays into the forest in the country when staying at my grandma's house. Its countryside there, not spectacular like Krakow, but the nature is magical. There's plenty of legends about spirits and witches and fairy like things in the woods too, and they certainly seem somewhat real to me in my fantastical mind and romantic heart.
It's a Lynyrd Skynyrd song...one of their acoustics. A demo version is currently on my myspace page, i think. (the album version is prettier, w/ a soft fiddle. :P I'd send you the file, but msn messenger won't work on my compy lately...*shrugs* :( )
Yeah, I definitely hope to visit...a European tour is a must for me. Esp. the woodlands. I've even thought about studying graduate forestry over there somewhere. That'd be awesome if you could be my guide, leave the map following up to me, though...haha.
Yeah, part of the appeal of Europe to me is its Celtic/ancient "white man" history. :P
