I say wait it out. *nodnod* Then, take him to a new vet on Thursday.

*nodnod* I observed him all day today and he seems to be getting much better since we forced the ooze out last night.. his front leg's not as tender as before and he's touching all feet to the ground and not limping nearly as much :) and I will scout around for a better vet... I found this one from the phonebook and I just moved to a new area where I don't have anyone nearby to recommend a vet.. do you have any recommendations of how to find/spot a good one?

thanks for the advice <333

You could try the yellow pages, and go with the bigger ads, or check pet owner sites?

Just keep it clean and cover it in antibiotic cream. Wrap it in something if he tries to lick it off or something...

thanks for the advice <3 I washed the wound with warm saltwater, then clear water and neosporin XD he doesn't seem to be licking it too much today but I know he likes to normally -_- he hates having something wrapped around him and always manages to tear it off! ;_; so I'm just leaving him be and trying to prevent him from licking whenever I see him doing so ^^;;;;;

Try to keep him from jumping around and pouncing on it. You really should take him to the vet. The infection might be serious and spread.

-_- he's such a restless cat. he insists on jumping on/off tables and climbing up n down stairs despite limping >.> *oie* I will keep a closer eye on him though... I haven't been playing chase with him or anything so we're trying to limit his amount of movement ^^;;;

the infection seems to be getting better after we got the ooze out yesterday night but we're observing him closely.. we've got an appointment with the vet at the end of the week anyways for a shot so we're thinking about having the vet look at him then if he's getting better the next couple of days...

thank you~ <333
