Bill

What really happened during Shakespeare's 'Lost Years'? Hopeless lute player Bill Shakespeare leaves his home to follow his dream.

To put it bluntly, I'm thick. History bores me and I'm not sure I fully understand what Shakespere is on about half the time. So thank god for the Horrible Histories kids TV show. Educational in a basic childish way with songs and jokes about wee and poo. Aahhhh nice, just my level.

Bill is much the same as the TV show...only slightly less wee and poo. But still childish and stupid and above all else, funny.

I'm not sure how much was historically accurate (probably none of it) but it rips along nicely with the six performers from Horrible Histories filling most of the main roles and good support from Helen McCrory as Elizabeth 1st and Damien Lewis in an almost blink and miss it cameo part.

Maybe not as snappy as HH and probably more suited to DVD than the big screen, it is still a fun frolick and whoa mama Ben Willbond in his guyliner! *fans self*
