i bought some more funk records at vinal edge the other day, and i was about to listen to a LAKESIDE (ohio synth funk band from the late 70s) lp and when i took it out it from the sleeve, i discovered a couple strands of old jheri-curled hair on the wax.

I can do you one better (if more predictable and less icky)- back in seventh grade I bought a box of records from the local swap meet- $5 for a bunch of Sabbath, Santana, Zappa, a Fugs record, and best of all, George Harrison's "Wonderwall" soundtrack, in pretty good condition. As I removed the insert from the sleeve, a flattened, thirty year old JOINT revealed itself, stuck to said sleeve. I left it there, not wanting to damage the insert any by tearing it off. Come a few weeks later, I just had to see if the joint was STILL smokable, so I ripped it from the insert, rolled another paper over it, and lit it up. And, I shit you not, it was still good. Better than good, even- the high was very mellow, but the audio component of it was very intense, and made for a fun day of sitting around listening to hippie bullshit, which, while not as cool as moving your rump to funk shit, is the shit when your shit is old, flat, and smells like homeless asshole. Shit.
